Kollwentz, Leithakalk Chardonnay, Burgenland

Sehr schön! Sehr expressiv und druckvoll, Aromenprofil sehr nach Banane. Toller Zug am Gaumen und frische Säure.

Deutlich dichter und gelbfruchtiger als vor zwei Jahren. Banane, Pfirsich, etwas Vanille. Nach wie vor tolle, frische Säure, welche die dichte Frucht gut balanciert, aber keine Ballerina - passt wunderbar zum Kalbsrack heute Abend.

Good pedigree in terms of terroir. Up against a 2030 L’Homme Mort from Baudoin 2020 so a sensible challenge. Colour: light/med gold, sl darker than the Chablis. Nose: full, q opulent in s as slightly New World way, the 13.5% ABV vs the 12.5% noticeable, needs time to open, good fruit Taste: light/med body, rounded, sl hot, good fruit, med finish but hot and NW in style. Overall. I prefer the Deaf Man as it is more restrained.

Had it in Zalto Burgundy glass. Didn't take any note as i was simply to tired , but my take is that its a fine wine that has a full body like American chardonnays that was full and fat body but lacked a bit of acidity. The last of 2 bottles is in my cellar and i will wait a couple of years before trying it.

A: medium lemon N: medium (+) intensity aromas of ripe peach, nectarine, lemon, white blossom, cream, honeydew P: dry, medium (+) acidity, medium (+) body, high ABV, medium (+) intensity flavors - particularly honeydew, medium (+) finish. C: very good wine, balanced acidity and ripe stone fruit with touch of tropical fruit, good concentration and intensity, decent complexity and good finish. Drink now but will hold for at least 5 years.

Ein toller Chardonnay! Bananige und südfruchtige Nase, leicht vanillig. Am Gaumen druckvoll, vor allem Südfrucht (Maracuja, Ananans), auch Pfirsich und Vanille. Stoffig Textur, das ist ein dichter, druckvoller aber gleichzeitig frischer Wein mit grossartigem Zug und toller Säurestruktur. Ein Preis-/Leistungssieger, kann mit 1er Cru Qualität im Burgund aus gutem Jahr mithalten.

Nice wine from a great producer. Good value.
