A viscous, serious wine. Slight butter note, minerality, with the oak coming through strong

Pleasant on the nose with hints of lemon and green apple. Very oakey finish.

Nose and palate showcase an overly toasted, overly buttered, low acid and ultimately uninteresting popcorn residue mess of a wine. Okay so that might have been too harsh. Drinkable if you like the traditional Cali chard inexpensive take, but otherwise stay away.

Nice body, strong oak notes. Worked well with a spicy seafood dish.

Nose: Very chardonnay. Lychee, peach, honey. Taste: Definite oak, but not too much. Orange, lemon, honey, papaya, creaminess. Decent finish.

Pale straw color, greenish highlights, medium weight. Aromas of oak, pineapple, and more oak. On the palate oak completely dominates, with some tropical and malolactic/buttery notes discernable among all that oak. It's like drinking an oak plank. I'm afraid the underlying juice is pretty uninteresting, and in fact hard to detect under the oak. The wine as a whole is in my view way out of balance, though with "toasted" in the name of the wine I should have known …

There's fruit in there somewhere, but the vanilla and oak overwhelm the palate. Much like a candy apple, without noticeable acidity to balance the rest. Some will like this, of course, but not a rebuy for me. Nicely crafted, however, with clean flavors and an attractive QPR for your next party.

Not bad for the price, but basically kind of boring. Pretty dominant oak notes, a little butter, maybe a hint of banana. Very little acidity. Not a bad stand alone sipper, but I can't see it doing well with food.

Easy to find- easy to drink. That's about it. I gets lost with food, it's more of a pre-dinner sipper. Very oak-y and fruit-forward. Sort of like alcho-pop but without the fizzies. It's okay.

First taste - no breathing time Smell non-descript, slight fruit aroma Taste is ...meh, fruity but is overpowered by an acidic taste. smooth and drinkable after running through vinturi Smell comes through a bit fruitier, hints of pineapple? Taste is fuller, much richer than before. Great mouthfeel, fruit shines through, no acidic aftertaste, very pleasant.

This wine is an oaky mess. Flat and lacking in acidity. Overripe and unctous. Lots of pineapple, banana and citrus to go with the wood chips, but not even close to modern Cali Chardonnay. This is what most vinters are apologizing for and running away from. OK, I don't mean to pan this wine too much. I mean, it willl get your girlfriend drunk at a reasonable price. But it will not educate your or her palate much. If your …

Light straw gold in color. Lighter than I expected. Oaky nose, exactly what I expected. Maybe some peach and melon in there too. Smells California. Oak n fruit both in fairly large amounts. Fairly fruity palate, driven by a pineapple feel, with some sweetness and medium-low acidity and a creamy oak finish. Medium-light body with average length on the finish. This is a fairly straight-forward California chardonnay. I probably couldn't tell it apart in a blind tasting from J Lohr, …

tropical nose. pineapples, bananas and apricots. the palate is rich and toasty, but well integrated. pineapple chunks and popcorn with some toasted nuts. it is what it is, and for that, my mother loves this wine. i never turn down a glass.

Tropical fruit on the nose, along with a hint of toast. More tropical fruit, especially banana, on the palette, along with some butter and toast. The oak is very well integrated. Nice balance. Very smooth. According to an email I received from Toasted Head, the R. H. Phillips winery closed in August 2009, and production moved to the Woodbridge winery. This, then, would be the first vintage produced at Woodbridge.
