Youthful, Medium bodied, good acid, red fruit spectrum, slight herbaceousness, not too complex. Good stuff, suitable for further aging.

Dark ruby purple color. Nice prominent sweet red cherry, strawberry, dark red berry bouquet. Medium to full bodied with good concentration. Nice ripe fruit. Very fleshy velvety mouthfeel. Concentrated ripe fruit flavors of strawberries, raspberries, red cherries, hint of smoke, slight fresh earthiness. Loads of soft velvety tannins and good structure along with great balance provide the ability for long ageing. Enjoyable now with breatihng. Best from 2023-2038. Exellent QPR. Cellar Selection

Hagafen, Napa Valley, Merlot, 2018 Since 1979, Hagafen Winery has been making kosher wine in the famed Napa Valley, California. Amazingly, their wines are also mevushal, utilizing a flash pasteurization process which leaves the wine undetectable as a mevushal wine. A revolutionary process. In fact, Hagafen is a testament to great wine which happens to also be kosher and happens to also be mevushal. This Napa Valley Merlot is from the flagship line. Hagafen also produces a members only Reserve …

Nice concentrated fleshy juicy fruity red with good structure, concentration, tannins. Needed a few hours of breathing to really open up, then delicious. Best from 2025-2033. Well worth getting and cellaring. Great QPR

Inky dark color. Crushed violet, cassis, dark cherry, velvety raspberry lush bouquet and flavors. Concentrated. Loads of fruit matched with loads of tannins. Long tangy tart acidic tannic fruity finish. Needs a few years age to open up. New world, but not over the top. Best from 2028-2033, possibly to 2038

Deep dark color. Intense ripe strawberry dense Earth bouquet. Dense and concentrated with strawberry plum jam dark Earth flavors but with loads of tannins. This wine really needs time. Best from 2028 to 2038

Wow! This is outstanding. But that is only after breathing for 6 hours. When first opened it was good but it took several hours of breathing to really start to show its stuff. Even after that it's still not showing all its got as it is still too young. Dark purple color. Intense sweet delicious bouquet of cassis, subtle blueberry, grape Jam. On the plate it is medium to full-bodied with intense ripe flavors of Cassis, jam, hints of blueberry …

Trip to Napa Valley; 1/30/2011-1/31/2011 (Napa, CA) : Strawberries and raspberries, oak, light bodied, high acidity, very hollow on the mid-palate and finish. Starting to see lack of fruit structure as a component of many Hagafen wines. Disappointing effort.

When I chose this bottle, I honestly expected a merlot that would bowl me over; this one was a gentle shove. Deep crimson in color with a strong raspberry aroma breaking through a medley of fruit. A mouthful of blackberry and raspberry peppered with oak and spice. Medium bodied with a long smooth finish. This wine is delicious and will become more refined with age.
