- Purple color - Maybe not a great bottle or suffered in storage - just a bit of brett maybe on the nose? Not strong in the taste so might be my imagination. That said, dark purple, intense, herbaceous and largely savoury flavour profile. The blackberries everyone else notes are there but have fallen a bit to the background. Tannins robust but a little astringent. Not a wine that's in a great place right now - likely better earlier (with …

Fell pretty flat on the finish. Not a very exciting wine.

Deep purple in color. Blackberries, licorice, some vanilla on the nose. The taste is more of the same. Blackberries followed by some mild blueberry, smoke and tar. The vanilla pops out during the finish. Well balanced acidity. Incredible wine for the price. Drank at The Melting Pot in Buffalo, NY.

Deep red/purple (inky) in colour. Deep scents of blackberries , plums, some florals. Medium bodied , drying tannins, almost a bit chewy. Blackberries flavour jumps right out. Some tar and earth as well. A slight bitter almond on the finish. Decent length to the finish . I think this could sit in the cellar for another 3-5 years.

Nice acid. Not overly sweet for the style. Haunting finish that comes out of nowhere.

A Couple Italian Producers from Frederick Wildman (Store) : This is a classic Dolcetto, but with a little bit more refinement. It is a DOCG now, after all.

Opaque purple colour. Aromas of crushed blackberries, bramble, kirsch, licorice. Medium-full bodied, lush, with solid crushed blackberry and blueberry notes. Delicious acidity and balance through to the short-to-moderate length, 20-25s, finish with more crushed berry fruit. I really enjoy this wine. 100% Dolcetto from the recently elevated Dogliani DOCG (elevated from Dolcetto di Dogliani Superiore). It sees only stainless steel, so this is pure and unadulterated. Really nice stuff.

Sour cherries, milk chocolate, violets and a whiff of alcohol on the subdued nose. The palate is dominated by cherry fruit and other red berry fruit, refreshed by cherry-like acidity and supported by sweet spices and a hint of chocolate. Fresh and tasty.
