Cooked but still sour cherries, sage, underbrush and something more exotic like coriander leaves. Somewhat muscular and compact on the palate. It loosens up a bit and throws some weight with air. Dry on ending. Better on day 2.

Deep red color. Aromas of black cherries, white pepper and wood spices. Nicely extracted fruit in the mouth with very good depth and length and moderate tannins. Still a bit young, this serious Chianti could warrant a higher score with another 2-3 years of bottle age.

From 75cl, good cork, P+P—improved so dramatically in glass, I must remember to decant next time! This beautiful Chianti does the dusty-ripe-cherry fruit thing perfectly. If I have any complaint it would be that the scent is so reticent, but from the lithe entry through the balanced, pleasantly grippy-tannic mid-palate to the moreish, acidic-vibrant finish all is good, clean, juicy fun. At first, I didn't believe the label, which declares 14,5% alc. Alas, it's telling the truth. This is a …

PnP. Cherry fruited in the glass, stiff but not angular. After two hours it really went maraschino with bay leaf. Should have decanted.

Dark ruby red. Smoky opening nose, some mushroom and compost, emerging black cherry and sour fruit underlay, orange peel, and a peck of tannin. Swirl of redcurrant and more black damson fruit, sprinkle of black pepper, firmish dry edge, but softening nicely. Very good. Air opens up the sour cherry deliciousness, and a lovely example of a good food and drinking Sangiovese. Smokiness, pert tannins and black cherries and bramble. Very nice.

Still needs at least a ome-hour decant. Coffee, cherry, garrigue and a flowery element on the nose. Freerunning red-berry juice on the palate. Fruit sweetness but held in check by both acidity and finely chiseled tannins.

To me, the nose came as little too tart/savory. It was a good companion wine for cheese pizza. Somehow I expected more balance between savoriness and other fruit flavor

What a nice Chianti Classico to pair with my cherry tomato pasta! It has perfume aromas of red plum, strawberry jam, dried herbs, cherry, and flint. On the finish, it has flavours of cherry, cranberry, perfume, licorice, dried herbs, and minerals. It has medium-plus acidity with soft tannins. Chill and enjoy.

Ruby red. Crisp redcurrant, pepper, crunchy re cherries, orange peel and smokiness nose. Still young and bright. Light, tangy and crisp, with a depth that emerges, subtle black cherries, crunchy redcurrant and black pepper. Very good. As the bottle disappears, improves with air - yum!

Bright garnet in color. Fresh bright red fruit on the palate (pomegranate comes to mind) along with tomato leaf, Mediterranean herbs, some minerality and crunchy acidity. Finishes dry. Very good entry level Chianti as a quality table wine.

Clear bright garnet, watery at the edge. Light perfumed bouquet, violet and cherries. Watery, soft mouthfeel. Fresh, slightly sweet red fruit, dry tannins but becoming integrated and much less noticeable with food, medium acidity. Agree with another reviewer more perfume than fruit. More savoury finish, not particularly long. Really good. Like where it is right now not sure it will improve materially…have a case so won’t hold back. Great house Classico.

Quite a lot of Chianti (Must & Lees, Warren Street) : Lots of violet, I found this quite clenched and the fruit not particularly expressive. More perfume than fruit at this point, some ferrous character. Smooth but compact on the palate, tomato and pomegranate flavours. May need time to relax.

An excellent Chianti Classico. I also detected a chemical whiff initially but it blew off quickly. This is a more complex chianti than most with astringent red fruit flavors of pomegranate and currents. It has a good medium weight body and a lovely smooth finish. I plan on buying more.

Had kind of an odd chemical smell for me at first, but that blew off. Cherry and floral nose, a bit hot even. Nice balance on the palate with the right blend of ripeness, acidity, and tannin. Not the pinnacle of Sangiovese but a serviceable effort.

Such a well constructed simple wine, love the ripe red fruit. Cherry palate, I can imagine this would be such a nice wine for red meats. Fresh oak and vanilla finish, with interesting strawberries on the medium length finish. Tannins very rounded, acidity M+ with such a juicy rounded mouthfeel. Chianti. A bit more acidic than some, and I would expect this to have softened at 10 years age. Needs to go with food with a bit of fattiness, in which case it will cut through nicely.

Day one: pop Upon plop: a faceless, generic, simple Chianti but after one hour started to come out. Classic in a way, albeit a little low on the tannin and thick on the fruit. Day two: already feeling old in a tired way (and I'm a lover of maturities) with a rather faceless appearance. Over 90 on day one, 88 on day two. To be honest, not quite the wine they are the most proud of. They have made so …

A lighter style of Isole e Olena Chianti Classico, at 8 years this is showing a softer almost pretty side, but lacking the drive, precision, and penetration of the better Isole e Olena CC (2010 and 2016). I guess one could call this "elegant", but "simple" is closer to the mark. On Day 2 and 3, I kept checking back to see if this was really the same wine. The light cherry side seemed to be gone, and the wine …

(mauvaise bouteille ??)

Popped and poured. Dark ruby with scarlet hints. Nose of earth, leather, fruit pits, floral notes, thyme. Surprising depth on the palate, exhibiting dried cherry, dusty earth, tart plum, leather again, and a bit of char. Elegant but deeper texture with excellent acidity and firm tannin. Longer finish of earth, red fruit, and grip. Terrific now but could evolve for years.

Tasted blind. The color is medium ruby. The nose is clean, developing, with tart red fruit (cherry, pomegranate), savory dried herbs, organic earth and a delicate oak treatment. The palate is dry, with medium tannins, medium (+) acidity and medium alcohol. This is an approachable, clean Tuscan red, which will pair well with a variety of foods but is quite good by itself. Really nice now, but with many years left.
