A nice slightly-darker-than-golden color, with pretty small bubbles. Not a super interesting nose, but inclined to be forgiving in light of the flutes it was served from. Quite nice yeasty and bruised apple notes on the palate, backed up by decent acidity. Not the most complex champagne, but one where the two or three years that has it spent under cork has probably done it some favors.

The value to price is really good on this one, especially when a decent champagne is hard to find for less than $40USD. This one hovers around $30 and is worth every penny. It is a grower champagne(rm) with premier cru grapes, and it hits all the taste points harmoniously, even hinting at the elusive autolytic(bready) character that is not often found in nv. The acidity is a bit untamed, but typically this just alerts me to sit on it …
