Chateau La Bonnelle, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

splash decanted. tight at first. legs and acid. alcohol. with swirling blackberry light oak cigar box. on the palate, macerated strawberries. after 1 hr, very plummy and moreish with a lightly spiced lamb tagine. nice. getting savoury with air, slightly grassy from the 20% cab franc. 2nd day nothing added so probably 8 years ageing is enough for this level. nice balance of fruit and secondary flavours good concentration, vintage probably helped. classic and enjoyable.

This is one of gift bottles i got from my cellar builder. Didn't expect too much. however, this wine is quite good. Very nice nose and bordeaux style body. quite complex and lasting, good tannins.
