Just not feeling this one. My wife actually disliked it enough that she didn’t finish a glass - a rarity for her. I miss the first couple vintages of Pretty Horses, which had such lovely red fruit and a sense of fun. They were terrific. To me, the 2018 and 2019 both come across as dull, with the fruit elements hidden behind a flat savoriness.

Still vibrant and delicious. It does gain a little weight with air overall really good. Drink up.

Pretty consistent with first bottle—fairly light and pretty, light red fruits and not very tannic. Still maybe a touch of VA on night one and slightly better on night two.

Bottle 1357g. No capsule. Aromas of moderate intensity, lifted, black and red berries, vanilla, wood. Dry, with elevated acidity and moderate drying tannins. Sweet fruit. Medium-bodied, 13.2°. A little more volatile than I would like. Wants at least another year to settle down. 75% tempranillo, 10% grenache, 10% pinot noir, 5% graciano.

Didn’t make it a whole year since my last bottle, but curiosity got the better of me. This is coming along but still hasn’t hit its stride just yet. Maybe another 6-9 months?

Not the best night for the pretty horses. An off bottle and then the 2nd had an herbal/savory note that was a lot more pronounced than the other bottles we’ve had. Still solid but didn’t love as much as we usually do.

This was a tale of two nights: -Night 1, PnP. Lovely translucent light ruby. Aroma was light and bright red fruits. On the palate, same nice strawberry and cranberry notes. (Not sure if the lightness is from some Pinot Noir in the blend, or just what Tempranillo is like without much age or oak.) But aside from the fruit, this was a little disjointed—almost had a touch of VA and the fruit seemed disconnected from the rest of the wine. …

Very nice, bright and fresh dark and red fruit flavors, a bit of pepper, and subtle earth. Slightly pinot-esque, but still unique. Not sure if peg for primarily Tempranillo, but delicious nonetheless

Nose of strawberries, candied cherry, and carnations. Rush of acidity starts the palate, followed by broad layers of red fruits (cherry, raspberry, cooked strawberry) and light earthiness. Simple finish has dry red fruit and light tannins. A soft wine that's fun to drink.

Surprisingly lifted aromatics of cherry and spring flowers. Beguiling on the palate - red fruit, floral, touch of pepper.

This is very young and benefits from a decant of about an hour. For now, it is a lighter and pleasant red that can be enjoyed on its own or with food. There is a slight herbal note and some bitterness that integrates better the longer the wine is open. This will clearly improve with time in the cellar, and I intend to not open another bottle for at least a year.

Popped and poured. Medium bright crimson color. Nose of medium red and dark red and black fruits with black cherry, plums, a bit of peppery spice and fresh soil. Similar flavors on the palate with medium+ acid and tannin. Juicy mouthfeel but drying finish. Very nice wine with definite upside. Would probably let this sit for a year or so before retrying.

Yep, this is in fact, pretty. The addition of Grenache to this cuvée has supplemented the structured fruit with a degree of juiciness that makes it irresistibly drinkable. I opened it at 4 PM, and started smiling at 4:05. Deep cherry fruit, new leather, a wafting top note of spice and herb, all come together in what feels like comfort wine. It was very hard to not drink the whole bottle by 6 PM.

Easy to drink, and easy to like. Red fruit, spice, warm dirt, leather and a touch of green herb, all in a single mouthful of wine. Low tannin, and very drinkable.

After all the kudos I've read, and certainly because of them, I expected more from my first bottle of Enfield wine. Blind, I'd have never guessed the grape; it had lighter body than expected based on the same grape from Spain and Washington state where it's gaining popularity, and it lacked the complex spice I've experienced in both. Fruit faded over two hours; this doesn't have a future.

Hard to believe this is an <$30 bottle of wine. Medium body but with dark red, juicy fruit. Delicious.

Fantastic wine. Coming from California this really surprised me. I found this in a boutique shop in Napa where I met the som at a Masters of Wine event. I told him what I sought and this was one of the bottles I bought. Absolutely real wine. Massively floral bouquet and tasted of liquid flowers. Lots of cherry, raspberry, with mushroom notes. This tasted more Italian provincial than anything from California. Winemaker John Lockwood had an intriguing beginning at Littorai, …

My favorite QPR producer over the last two years. This very approachable Tempranillo and their juicy-yet-balanced rosé are both fantastic values, and are just as good with food as they are on their own.

This is missing some of the depth possessed by the 2014 version. Still, an enjoyable, medium-bodied Tempranillo that’s ready to go now.

I don’t drink many Tempranillos but thought this was a nice wine and a good value. Looking forward to trying the other wines in the Enfield range.

(Mostly) Enfield wines at Red and White (Chicago, IL) : Cute name. This is a bit of a step up from the first Enfield wine I ever had (the 2011 tempranillo). Savoury and light, with a bit of a darker complexion here. This is a fairly clean example of the grape as well, as I notice any animale or barnyard aromas. The lighter black fruit doesn't quite match the dense tannins; it's slightly surprising how the two coexist. There's good …
