This wine has now reached its peak and is starting to fall apart. The fruit can no longer mask the high acid level and will become more difficult to enjoy.

A lovely cool climate fat fruity chardonnay with toasty oak and underlying slate. Not everybody's cup of tea but for those who do like this style it was a lovely drop indeed. The plate was long, the acid well balanced and probably drinking at its best right now. Cannot see any reason to keep it any longer as it is unlikely to get better than this.

Very Good+-Excellent. The non-reserve has good minerally qualities as well.

Big chardonnay nose of lifted pineapple (simple?), malo, some toasty oak. Sharp structure, obvious acid, subdued peach fruits. Well rounded palate, very sound construction but not exciting. Firm oak on the finish. This is a very young wine.

Yarra Wineries visit (Coldstream, Yarra) : Similar to the 04; a rich, quite big and soft wine; zesty acid doesn’t preclude a round, balanced finish. Expensive at A$50
