Il Paradiso di Manfredi, Rosso di Montalcino

Mid colour with orange rim - attractive cherry nose with hints of grass and wood. Long balanced palate, slightly austere with stone fruit tastes with cloves and cinnamon. No further ageing needed.

Very impressed by the wine - could be one of the nicest Rosso di Montalcino I’ve tried. Complex on both nose and palate. Pretty floral on the nose, red cherries, cedar wood, cranberries, and hint of lightly rubbed leather, on the palate, quite mineral, some earthiness, solid tannin and nice acidity.

Benvenuto Brunello 2018, Montalcino centro; 2/16/2018-2/19/2018 (Montalcino) : (Benvenuto Brunello, 2018, Montalcino) Intriguing, fascinating and compelling. Brick red>garnet, clear and bright. Aromas of tobacco, citrus, apple skin, sweet cherries, with wow-type concentration all packaged in a medium-bodied, traditional frame. BIG but small, my notes say. House wine like. Not especially good

Smells like sealing wax, sweetish flowers, leather, black cherry. Taste is wide, warm, tannic, intense, embroiling.
