Bernard Faurie Hermitage

Red and dark cherries, a bit of a floral note, a hint of olives, and overall quite primary flavors on the nose. The palate has a good amount of tannic structure but is starting to soften a bit. More cherries, savory notes, pepper, and riper red and dark fruit follow. Good finish. Nice wine that is still primary and feels like it needs a lot of time. 93+

Somehow this still has quite the florescent magenta hue, although the structure has been nicely smoothed over, putting this in a pretty easy drinking zone despite its youth. It has a vaguely earthy and meaty base under the fruit as a clear Rhone syrah signature, but it's not especially dense or weighty.

As with most 2009 Northern Rhônes, opened too young and should instead be allowed to sleep.

This is a wonderful Syrah. Nice dark color. Tannins were not overly powerful. Nice fruit on the palate. Medium finish.

Super reductive beast with still tons of tanins. Double decanted after 2hrs slowly showing first signes of beauty - I am sure it will be a great wine in another 10-20 years ! Too primary now for my liking
