Retail $125. 100% Chardonnay. Great lemon and pear with a lovely yeasty component on the nose. Quite young and tart with tons of green apple on the palate and a lovely yeastiness comes in eventually on the lengthy finish. Like I said this is still quite young but fabulous. Outstanding. 94 Points. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

Opened for Mother’s Day: Sight: Beautiful medium golden color showing it’s 12 years well Nose: Yellow fruits, Golden apple, touch of brioche and some nutty honeyed notes. I see some nice development since I got this at the winery in 2018. I also find a very nice champagne like yeast and minerality character to the aroma but the ripeness keeps me in California. Taste: The palate has an elegance the bubbles are fine and the textured palate is very good. …

The wine looks light gold colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like apple. It tastes like apple and light toast. The body is light/medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

The Sixth Annual World's Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine (Houston, Texas) : Retail $125. 100% Chardonnay. Light in color, but quite nutty on the nose. Great on the palate with the fruit looking to express itself behind all that tartness. Nice yeasty component as well. Outstanding. 93 Points. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

Subtle, good bubbles, golden color, complex flavors, light to medium body, great fruit and balance, drank easily with lobster, would drink again but pricy, domaine carneros wines can stand up to Champagnes,

Retail $125. 100% Chardonnay. 0.8% g/l dosage. Le Rêve. Just the mention of the name elicits a "Whoa." Long considered (at least by me) the best domestic sparkler, this 2016 once again checks all the boxes. Lovely tree fruit and perhaps ginger on the nose, as the delicate bubbles float up through the straw-colored liquid. The palate is fantastic: Rich layered, elegant fruit, and unbelievable balance. But what sets this apart from almost all of the domestic sparkling wines I …

The Fifth Annual Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine : Retail $125. 100% Chardonnay. Light straw in the glass with a delicate sparkle and a citrusy lemon-lime mix that is compelling. Retail $125. 100% Chardonnay. Domaine Carneros' top cuvée and perhaps the best domestic sparkling wine, Le Rêve is always a wine I can't wait to taste. Aged for six years on the lees, this slightly straw wine is bursting with yeasty goodness on the nose along with some golden delicious apple and some wet rock. Whoa. I doubt that any other domestic sparkler can top this nose. The palate is quite tart, suggesting the need for a bit more time …

Summer Patio Dining over the 4th (Shari's, Mpls, MN) : Pale gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. Nicely autolytic, roasted almonds, brioche, pear galette, ocean breeze, earthy and lightly floral nose. The palate is toasted, pear, brioche, almond cream, stone, with hints of lime and anise on the finish. Elegant and refined. 93+pts.

Delicate, not a lot of depth. Not offensive - no particularly strong aromas or taste. Very easy drinking. One of the better California sparkling wine options, but at this price, expected more.

Retail $120. 100% Chardonnay. While there have been several Champagne houses that have found a foothold in the New World, but most of them have since changed hands. Not Domaine Carneros, it's still owned and operated by Taittinger, and the wines not only have maintained their excellence, they, in my opinion, have only gotten better. While I have not tasted every vintage of Le Rêve, I have had quite a few, and this 2012 is right up there with those …

I was excited to taste this again and even more excited to double dip for 2nd pour. This reminds me, a lot, of Taittinger's Comte. In fact, the similarities in; weight, elegance and purity to the French flagship are striking. This lags only in maturity behind the fantastic 2006 Comte. Just a bit reserved and tight tonight but really impressive none the less! This is remarkable and might be the very best CA sparkler? Only knock, the cost is not …

Monthly Tasting Group: Worldwide Chardonnay (Oceanaire, Mpls, MN) : Light gold color. Drank a glass plus over an hour. I'm a big fan of this wine. I agree with Chablis28 in that there are certainly key similarities stylistically to Comte. Very delicate and precise with complexity and poise. ALmond, brioche, toast and lemon, delicate, panna cotta on the nose. The palate offers melon, lemon, wet stone, lively, toast, dried green herbs, medium plus finish. Just lovely.

Flavors and feel - Creamy, velvety, pear, vanilla. Visually - bubbles, like a strand of tiny pearls, up the center of the glass forming a persistent dime-sized circle on the surface. Wonderful with grilled lobster. Bottle was sabered perfectly for us by Chef.

The First Annual Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine : Retail $115. 100% Chardonnay. Delicious nose of sweet tree fruit and yeastiness.
