Très bon. À point. Le fruit est toujours bien présent (cerise et noyau) mais le vin commence à offrir des belles notes de garde. Ce soir, l'équilibre était parfait et on aurait dit un pinot bourguignon beaucoup plus coûteux. Un beau plaisir.

Ripe fruit, ripe tannins, creamy and satiny texture, it is softening but still retains a predominantly primary flavour profile, cherries and strawberries, flowers, hint of earth but not rustic at all, pure, lovely balance and freshness, well-integrated oak provides warmth, good flavour intensity and length. A bit too much oak on the nose and palette. Lacking fruit concentration for a 1er cru, the wine seems a little off balance with the over powering oak and slight bitter after taste. None the less, you can find bright red fruits and reflects a typical Burgundy style. #winedinewear

Heeft wat rood fruit (zwarte bessen) in de neus. Mooi rood fruit inde mond, mooi rond, niet erg complex. Zachte tannines. Nu drinken.

Cherry and dirt in the aroma. The cherry is quite bright. Nice light balance on the palate with acid and some tannin at the finish. Drank with grilled lamb, roasted brussel sprouts and mushroom risotto. Perhaps a little heat or pepper.

Solid stuff, sturdy wine. Ripe fruit of black cherries and plums, rich style but balanced well by cool minerality and ripe acidity, citrus lift, not very detailed or subtle but with good weight and grip; flavoursome, good length. Might become quite interesting in a few years' time, if and when this starts developing tertiary characteristics. At restaurant The Oriental Swan, Soesterberg, NL.

A beautiful ruby color, darker than what one would expect from a Pinot. The nose is earthy with the aroma resembling forest floor, wet soil, bacon, and raspberry. The palate shows more fruit, starting with sour cherry and raspberry followed by graphite, mushroom, and tobacco, and finishing with chocolate and a hint of green vegetable. Excellent wine for the price. Initial nose of spice and underbrush gives way to red fruits after 10-15 minutes of air. Medium/light body with hint of tannins on finish. Pairs wonderfully with mushroom or pumpkin ravioli which match the little bit of smokiness and bring out the fruit. Wish I had bought more at $20.

Medium dark ruby colour to this unfiltered wine. Girardin's style has been evolving to be less interventionist. Upon opening, nose originally muted opens up to a mix of dark fruits, some spice. On palate, there is a broad tannic welterweight texture that becomes more interesting as the bottle is reopened into the 2nd day. I enjoyed this dry, earthy burgundy. Stem inclusion adds earthiness. Needs a bit of time, but I like the dry style. Give it some time. Has some decent heft, but it's not overripe or over extracted.

Tasted second day open, this is a gleaming cherry red from the southern portion of the C�te de Beaune. Reserved gentle tannins cover red fruit and a small hint of moss and peat. More fruity than some, easy to enjoy. Medium finish. Not a bad way to get into a burgandy without taking out a second mortgage.

Half an hour in the decanter and it was really quite good already, nose of violet and red fruit, balanced, minerals and herbs in the background. Palate of a young wine, full of energy and vibrant but already drinkable. A great QPR wine.

Burgundy Fest 1.0 (Waterford Wine Co., Milwaukee) : Light and clean strawberry and stem. Not to make Cru Beaujolais allusions, but...Maranges is pretty close. I guess this is my first red of the day as well. Same thoughts as with the Bouchard 09 Rouge (basic), from earlier this week on DAY1. Palate gives a soft hand of fruit upfront and then finishes off more serious-like and not as light as the nose would suggest.
