Revisiting this wine two weeks later. Bright cherries, hints of cocoa, licorice, and maybe orange peel, tannins, really nice and long cocoa-infused aftertaste. Immediately after opening, this faded briefly in the mid-mouth, but this corrected itself after only 10 minutes or so (very approximate--wasn't watching the time) in the glass. After about 15 minutes the faintest hints of grilled pork and spice cake emerged. Not remotely a great wine, but fresh and bright and very enjoyable. A happy unpretentious wine. …

Enjoyable from the moment the bottle is opened. Cherries, licorice, orange peel, faint hints of cocoa and rosemary, a touch of tannins, all followed by a long, intense, and very nice aftertaste. Should give lots of pleasure for another two years, but I personally wouldn't gamble on longer than that. [Tasted over an hour and a half from the Jancis Robinson glass.]
