Great QPR. And 100% Carignan, though it's more full-bodied, fleshier and riper than your typical Carignan. 14.5% ABV.

Very rich and sweet in a CA way, like a very good Zin, but nicely balanced. Went well with a pasticcio from The Greens. Yum

Fantastic QPR. Tasting partner #1 and I both really enjoyed this bottle. Medilum to full-bodied, great depth and length on palate. Firm black fruits and some very interesting exotic chocolate and mocha notes. Enough acidity to keep it all together. 14.5% alcohol but it does not seem hot or overtly noticeable.

Had it with spicy Sichuan Chinese food and it was excellent

Riper than I like my wines, was expecting a bit more of a peppery syrah/grenache for dinner, but this was more thick and ripe with only a little acidity and tannins. For sure international in style, but for $13 this is pretty decent wine and an excellent value.

Not what I was expecting from CdR until I saw that it was 100% Carignan. Expressive nose, but the tannins overwhelm the fruit at this point. Best on this finish where this wine starts to show its promise.

Interesting setup. 14.5% abv from unusual single varietal for CdR, made in the "international" style. Has avoided for now the blowsiness I would have expected, tannins outweighing the ripeness

100% Carignan. Dark purple robe. Clearly dark and ripe on the nose without trending into overripe, it gives aromas of herbal tea, baked blackberries and plums, perhaps some rose petals and a little baking spice. There are some medium grained tannins upfront that lead to a nice peppery and dark complected fruit compote that finishes with a nicely astringent herbal note which lingers for a bit. Always interesting to try a 100% Carignan. Clearly ripe fruit, the wine is ready …
