A day tasting in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma (Russian River Valley) : Dark, dense, silky.

Dense inky core with purple and dark cherry hues set by a thick watery rim. Moderate viscosity, bright reflections and good concentration. The nose is jammy with dense concentrated fruit aromas of boysenberry, marionberry, huckleberry and raspberry. Ancillary aromas of white pepper, red vines, vanilla and hints of wood, chocolate, star anise and earth.
