First Pott wine that I have had. Aging quite nicely. Solid core of red and black fruit with velvety soft tannins.

Rich, bold wine but with a soft texture. Black cherry, prunes, dark chocolate notes. Good length and finish. Drank with grilled picanha and I don’t think there could be a better pairing. After a few hours, the wine came into better balance with a core of ripe cabernet fruit. Excellent cabernet!

Alluring potpourri nose segues to red fruits and spices on the palate. Focused, deep and satisfying. A rich, bliss producing blend of power and finesse which--for me--is Aaron Pott's signature.

really tight when opened, decanted and poured a glass. It opened up after an hour. much more approachable, softened up and drank wonderfully the rest of the evening

Plum and ripe black currant notes. Plush soft tannins on the finish. A sweeter style of California Cabernet- very approachable, but a bit fatiguing after a few sips. Drinking well now.

Pop and pour. Awesome. 2 hours later: even better. Black and blueberry, anise, iron on the nose. Gorgeous. Great balanced palate, long finish. Superb. Pott at 10 years.... Stunning!

Beautiful Napa Cabernet with interesting notes of toasted mocha. Drinking beautifully if a bit hot.

Pure Cabernet goodness with an unusually sweet powdered-sugar finish.

Pretty enjoyable right out of the gate, and gains richness and nuance with air. Heady dark fruit and spice aromas, rich palate structure with bark blue fruits, meat, and leather, with power and sustain. I see no reason to wait per se, but will likely hold for years.

Gave this about an hour of air. It probably needed a bit more. Not quite as expressive as I might have expected, but did round into an enjoyable wine. Personally, I think the "newer" vintages/projects that Aaron Pott is doing are resulting in better wine. But this was a fine bottle and was enjoyed.

Really the best of both worlds: smooth Cali cab with lots of Bordeaux earth. It was a treat.

Rich violet dominated floral nose. Full bodied Cali Cab, bright cherry and blueberry fruit. The tannins are pretty well integrated at this point. Not a brooding, dark style- drinking well right now.

14% alcohol. decanted and followed in the glass for almost 4 hours. keep this wine at just above cellar temperature because it takes on some annoying heat as the mercury rises. chocolate, toffee, and kirsch. mildly gritty tannin. full bodied. no evidence of green notes as in my first taste almost 16 months ago. i got to spend a great deal more time with this than i did previously, and the current snapshot is favorable. it has enough structure and …

Easy 94pts. Consumed over two days, best on day two. Everything I want in a Cali Cab. Decant for at least fours plus now or hold if you can. I wish I had more. This will be a 95 pt plus wine someday.

This wine is fantastic ... the nose alone is worth half the money ... we were all smelling this wine for easily 10 minutes before we felt the need to drink it. Wonderful fruit, without being fruity. Excellent structure and acidity without being astringent or "edgy" and a nice long finish. In sum, very balanced, amazing nose and surprisingly drinkable given how big this wine is -- it does, however, need some air, so if you do pop this, give …

double blind to the group, my bottle. not decanted. my first pott wine of any incarnation, and i found it to be a solid contribution to the wine world, but (what else is new?) about $50 too expensive. i liked the cab component, but felt the blend added a green tinge that i wasn't fond of. i would also prefer a defter touch with the oak. based on this performance, decant and/or hold for 2 years. i think there is …

Blind Night (Kevin) : My initial guess was Napa Cabernet blend. Black in color. Tastes of blackberry, cherry, and charred oak. Good balance. Clipped finish with some greenness. 14.9% alcohol. Brought by Jeff.

Wow. Popped this on my birthday. Phenomenal, massive Howell Mtn cab. Rich and ripe, with a silky, robust texture. Some black fruits, with a bit of oak, and some delicous spice on the long finish. A young buck with a great life ahead of it. 40+5+5+17+19+8=94

Killed a baby, couldn't wait. Decanted 8 hours and still was acidic and unresolved on the palate and nose. Left in the bottle overnight and day 2, sweet rich dark fruit emerged. Soft sweet blackberry and cocoa. Ripe, smooth tannins fall within awesome balance and a long finish. Leaving the rest alone...will be killer.
