Schloss Johannisberg, Riesling Rosa-Goldlack BA, Rheingau

Rieslingfeier 2014 - BYOB Main event (Rouge Tomate, NYC) : Similar to my last experience with this (but a larger pour, this coming from a 750 rather than a half bottle) with immense ripeness; ripe tropical fruits, honey, caramel and sweet baking spices accented by maturing smoky and burnished flavours. It's a powerhouse on the palate, intensely sweet but very well balanced by its acidity, and still gives the impression that it has years ahead of it.

Deep orange in colour, showing its age and concentration, and a real wow from the first sip. There's amazing power and intensity here with layers of ripe botrytised fruit flavours accented by honey, caramel and mature smokiness; there's still a sense of real freshness and energy to the flavours and it feels remarkably light on its feet despite the BA sweetness and ripeness.

Light amber color. Tons of honey and fresh tropical fruit (mango, pineapple). Drink now.
