leaning toward apple with a touch of citrus. Almost like a more alcoholic Cider. Acidity is barely there which leaves it slightly unbalanced.

This Falanghina has mild citrus and melon notes with a straw hue, but the medium-low acidity leaves it feeling quite flat. It lacks the crispness and vibrancy typical of the varietal, resulting in a rather subdued experience.

Good notes. I lean toward citrus and spice on the nose. Wonderfully acidic so it can punch above its weight with regard to pairings.

Melon on the nose. Pine tar, straw, bitter almond, honey with quince and chrysanthemum buds. Pineapple and papaya with minerals. Salty finish. I didn’t care for this too much on day 1, but I liked it better on day 2 with a spiced butter tagliatelle. The spices and richness of the butter helped this to be pleasant.

The wine looks light gold coloured. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like a bit like pineapple and melon. The body is light. The wine has a slightly juicy texture, but due to its acidity, it isn't at all unctuous. The wine finishes medium but calls for another sip... in a minute. It has medium acidity. Overall, a great opener for a long meal. Or evening sipping late at night. It costs C$25.99 …

The odor of a bag of cashews and some dried chamomile (from a reasonable distance away). A melange of subtle citrus/orchard/melon fruit with edible flowers. The whole effect is "very nice". Not substantive, not meditative, but also not frivolous or "searingly acidic". I always appreciate falaghina for its ability to sit in between the austere acids of a riesling or verdejo/albarino and the waxier / more unctuous Rhone whites. It's a wine that feels on the lighter side but has …

Lemon color with pineapple, mango, apricot, lemon peel, citrus blossom and a hint of almond aromas. On the palate it's between light and medium-bodied with bright acidity. Its flavors echo its aromas complicated with hints of spice, bitter almond and minerality. 13% abv|SRP - $23

Quite good. Drank at dinner with many people, so didn’t get a chance to really focus on notes. Medium plus acid, dry, citrus and nectarine with some minerality. Would buy again.

Nose: Aromas of melon and traces of slate minerals. Palate: Contrasting flavors of round, stone fruits and melon with a bright, bitter minerality countering. A simple wine that still has some appeal and although only an 88 pointer for me as well there is an appeal beyond the score for a simple quaffer. For only $16 its fairly solid. Also like the synthetic cork as Feudi wines have suffered using real cork over the years in my experience with this …

Retail $22. Under synthetic stopper. 100% Falanghina. Pale straw in the glass with plenty of tree fruit, particularly pear and peach on the nose. Quite fruity and tart on the palate with a nice roundness to it as well. While this is not the most sophisticated white wine I have come across this week, it certainly is a quaffable wine that will work well with a variety of lighter dishes. Very Good. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

On nose and palate: Faint tangerine and sea salt, clean , vibrant acidity ,notes of apple skin and stony minerals ....very young, will flesh out with ageing ....great now with shrimp or sole dishes.

Earlier notes apply here though, with time in the glass it does gain a bit of weight and a certain waxy texture. Works well with Ortiz anchovies - acidity helps cut the fat, citrus and herbaceous add support and complexity to the experience...alcohol warmth on the finish is less of a problem. It's improved over the last three tastings but doesn't really excite me...interesting though.

During an Italian walk about tasting, so only brief impressions. Grape variety Falanghina (never heard of it before). On the nose quite neutral. Citrus, flowers a touch of grass. Very light on the palate, not much complexity. A typical Italian apero wine but not more.

IWS Tuscany, Campania, Basilicata, Marche, Umbria; 1/29/2022-1/30/2022 (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. A little kumquat, green plum/green gages with herbs and floral top notes, slightly chalky minerality with time as well as a slightly meaty quality. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity which lends a slight sour note to the citrus, it's a little green and pointy, medium length. Nose better than the palate. Hmm.

PnP. Had with lighter homemade chicken pot pie. On the nose aromatic with lost of jolly rancher green apple. Was fruity, soft, dry, light, and crisp with no oak. Some stone fruit and minerality. Easy drinking. After dinner on its own was tasty as well. Nothing complex but easy quaffer. Would buy again @< 18.

Coravin fun - Italian wines plus a ring in (Ben and Estella's place, Parramatta) : From Coravin. Wet stone mineral notes, sulphur detracts from other aromas; a little green passion fruit with time. Juicy acidity, that green passion fruit is joined by unripe stone fruit and a fair alcoholic heft on the finish. Nah.

Feudi can really do some nice things with their whites and this is a good illustration to that point. Piercingly dry, but with floral sweetness, perhaps more in texture than anything, good supporting mineral tones and refresh acidity on the finish.

Wow, what a value! I love this producer and the wine they make is always surprisingly good. The Falanghina has beautiful notes of ripe golden honey crip apple and loads of yellow and white flowers. The palate is fresh, fruity, and round. The amount of minerality in this wine and slight bitter, pithy and nutty notes, balance the roundness and fruitiness perfectly. I am a drink now on this wine as I feel further aging will disrupt the harmonious balance …

BTG purchase at Vino Volo in Terminal A at BWI airport. Medium, bright lemon color. Upfront, white crunchy minerals, followed by lemon peel, yellow flowers, and mixed orchard fruits. Palate reflects tangy lemon, tart lime, unriped apple, crunchy pear, and bitter white mineral rock. Medium acidity supports a satisfying finish. Very good, would have liked a bit more intensity.

Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. Clear, medium straw. The nose is clean, youthful, with apple, lemon peel, lime, grapefruit, tart white peach, fragrant white flowers and fresh herbs. No oak. By the glass. An old well-known mate who this time behaves like a tropical fruit compote with bananas and mango. Fortunately, a bright acidity softens that abundant creaminess and gives length and sapidity. As always I would like one more complexity. Por copas. The first time I tried Falanghina was not memorable. The food was bland, the wine was warm, everybody was yelling in a foreign language and I was just sitting there trying to understand what the fuck was going on. The second time I tried it, I drank it. Alone. With pleasure in the bar of a Tuscan steakhouse unwinding from a long day. That could've been the best bottle in my life right there and then. This was some tasty stuff. This was our first Falanghina so we weren't sure what to expect. It was a little lighter than I had hoped for, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing either. There was plenty of citrus and minerality that makes this food friendly. I thought this was also nice on its own. I would certainly drink this again.
