Going into a bit of a sleepy phase. Needing more time to awaken but its all there. Lush, velvety fresh dark n wild fruit. Not much of a crazy tannic backbone right now but man you can feel that when this wakes up, hold on to your pants.

Didn't take notes. It's not complex, but it's drinking very well right now, and does exactly what you'd want a Myriad NV to do. It's big and polished, but not over the top. Great wine.

Dark garnet dark juicy purple color. Nose has dark fruit, dark chocolate, vanilla and minty orangish vanilla smoke. Palate has dark fruit, chocolate, tobacco, chocolate donut, minty orangish smoky vanilla candy, blackberry, blueberry, ripe berry fruit. Bright acidity and crisp finish. Amazing wine right now, firing all cylinders. This wine made my day. Thanks MS!

Decanted for one hour. After the hour decant, started out a bit hot. After another hour of air, the heat dissipated and this was really nice. Give it some air, or let it rest another year or two. 93 after 2 hours of air.

Decanted through an aerator, tasted at the 30- and 60-minute marks. At first, the wine hits a sweet stride with rich blackberry, cassis, and a soft cocoa edge. Plush but not flabby, with that telltale Myriad polish and purity. Tannins are velvet-gloved early on, allowing the fruit to shine. An hour in, the structure steps forward with firmer tannins, drying a touch on the finish, with oak spice and a bit more grip taking over. Not necessarily worse, just more …

My last bottle. still very powerful, smooth and rich. Now mostly secondary and tertiary aromas and flavors but still good fruit aromas and flavors. Could probably last another 5 plus years, too bad I don't have any more left. Very solid and enjoyable wine now.

Had a bottle of this over the weekend (3 days ago) and found it very disappointing. Following that review, I received several comments from others with more experience with M. Smith wines than I have that seemed to support my thoughts on this wine. Just to double-check, I opened another one and pretty much the same result. This bottle did not quite have the drying tannins on the finish, but still shows as a so-so, at best, generic red wine …

Opened, poured and let sit about 45 min. Then: Not much of anything on the nose. Taste through the first half of the glass (about 15 min) is more earthy than anything else; tannins not evident; acidity OK; no noticeable fruit; medium mouthfeel at best. A tiny bit of sweetish red fruit appears in the 2nd half of the glass; earthiness still present; drying tannins appear on the finish. No hint this is cabernet and not that pleasant to drink. …

Decanted and drank most of this last night. While my notes will generally be from the leftover glasses, this needed a solid hour in the decanter to open up, and improved considerably thereafter. Leftover glasses show really vibrant blue and black fruit on the nose. Really enjoyable mouth feel that thats well balanced, medium+ in weight and completely coats the palate, leaving a 15-20 sec finish across the back. Dark fruit continues to dominate, and I’m catching the slight herbal …

Mixed New World Tasting. All wines tasted blind. No detailed notes. This is a beautiful wine with ripe Napa fruit but well balance by earthy and some animal notes as well as an intriguing nuttiness. The highlight is that the wine remains quite weightless despite its richness. One of the best wines tonight.

Tasted blind. I felt like there were minor off-notes initially, maybe cardboard-like, but these evaporated with a bit of air. Minor nutty elements. Otherwise red currant and darker cherry fruit with nice add-ons of leather and smoke. Structured palate with fresh acidity, good balance and lively acids. Young and just about to enter the drinking window. In the end a straight-forward Cab, well-made and ticking the right boxes for effortless enjoyment.

Love how this wine is showing at age 8, which I find is typically a sweet spot (+/- a year) for many of Mike’s cabs. It didn’t take any time to open up and it delivered everything we were looking for, from the darkly floral nose to the mouth-full of purple fruits and spice notes to the silky smooth finish.

I'm finding some 2019's showing a bit awkward and this on falls into that category. Day one shows a bit tight, acidic and restricted/ closed. Dark berry fruit, blueberry, blackberry, currants and a slight tart bitter cranberry aspect. After a couple of hours in an open bottle, it never really came around. Not bad but closed, 91+ Points. Day 2 showed nice improvement as the fruit and flavors were more apparent. Dark red and blue fruit, currants and anise. Full-bodied, …

One hour decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Ripe blackberry, boysenberry, violet, charred sage, glazed old fashioned donut, and subtle orange rind. Dry, plush palate, with bright acidity. Firm, full tannins on the medium long+ finish. This is a very nice drinker. The fruit is intense and it’s a bit more herbal than I like, but it’s pleasant nonetheless. I don’t see it getting much better. It will certainly change over time, but won’t be more enjoyable. My lady friend …

Not sure where this bottle came from, found it in the cellar but not in my CT which is usually up to date. A nice bonus bottle, drinking well and really enjoyable. Did not need much decant. Integrated and tasty entry level Napa cab which was shockingly better than the ‘18 G3 alongside of it.

A great bottle of wine right out of the gate and a value when compared to it's Napa peers and price point. Consistent and as mentioned before: Ripe dark berry fruits: blackberry, blueberry, currants, plum. A bold full bodied Cab with good extraction. 93+/ 94 Points.

Opened, poured into a decanter, and then enjoyed with food (grilled T-Bone steak with Caldo Verde soup, in case you were wondering). Gabriel Glas stem. Dark purple color. Nose of ripe red cherries, red berries and some blackberry fruit. Hint of oak and some mint. Wonderful rich fruit on the intro, showing some tobacco and leather along with the fruit. Sufficient acidity. Dark and slight sweetness. Slightest touch of heat on the back end. Speaks of Napa cabernet. Paired well …

Initial sample following splash decant: perfumed nose shows ripe, dark black and blue fruit. As others note, the flavors are extracted, but not overdone. Plenty of lush tannins that can clearly open up further, but this is surprisingly drinkable right out of the bottle given its youth. After 90 minutes in the decanter the nose hasn't changed but the wine has softened and the fruit is sweeter with a hint of pepper or spice on the front to mid palate …

Sadly my last bottle of the case. And wouldn't you know, this was the best bottle yet. Mike Smith always said to drink the NV in the first 5 years while waiting for the SV bottlings to come together. So I have not waited on these NVs usually for this long - perhaps I should also start letting them lay down longer as well becuase this was amaze-balls (official wine term).

Dark purple in glass. I popped and aerated into glass. Getting familiar strawberry, red fruit notes on the nose upfront with a leafy, light herbal note interlaced. Sour apple and a chalkiness on the mid palette. Finish is moderate with a medium to heavy body. Enjoyable stalwart of a wine.

Dark maroon in color with medium body in glass. On the nose, it’s dried strawberries and a slight leafy note to it. The taste profile has a lush fruitless to it, part fig jam and part strawberry apple. The latter I’m noting as I get a tinge of tartness or ripeness to the drink.

Opened at home and re-corked after an hour to take to the restaurant. Once there, pulled the cork and it sat for another hour or so. Very solid cab, nose of blackberry and cherry with some coffee/cocoa notes. On the palate, sweet cherry, more blackberry and currant. Tannins were smoothed out and well integrated. Nice long finish.
