Sorrentino Aglianico Don Paolo

Nice aglianco, opens with rich fruit, followed but enjoyable tannins

Medium ruby, filtered Aromatics medium. Dark but fresh ripe red plum, later leather and ash Palate has a medium body. Acid medium +. Tannins medium +, medium grained. Alcohol medium. Fresh red cherry and chalk. Finish has a medium length. Balance towards the tannins. Nice acid and fruit. Nose developed with air. If I had more bottles, I would hold for 2 more years given tannins. At this stage though, I still find it enjoyable.

This really came alive with some air! Dark fruit, black tea, lots of interesting complexities. Before it opened up, though, it was more just a one-note fruit forward wine.
