Deep opaque purple, amber at the edge. Spice, cassis and blackberry leather notes on the nose. Silky tannins and breezy acidity made for a cleansing mouthfeel. Dark berry, spice and wood mulch flavors are nicely balanced. Medium long finish.

Similiar note, still young, give it a long decant. www.winelx.com

A bold nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A full bodied bold PS, with blackberry, blueberry, cassis, dark chocolate and spice on long finish, it took hours in a decant to get there, was too harsh right out of the bottle. Give it a long decant to enjoy wine at it’s best, still young. www.winelx.com

Wow, this is really rocking now. After a couple hours open it is delivering just about everything I could imagine a Petite Sirah should. I've tasted a lot of Daou's juice and this ranks right up there.

Dark and jammy. Able to drink right after opening, but softened a bit in a short while.

Definitely best after a long (6+hr) aeration . Beautiful dark purple color, almost 100% saturated and the legs take over 30 seconds to form. Berry jam and flowers on the high-powered nose. Big body but not overweight and a very nice balance in the mouth. Smooth, fruity, additional layers of white chocolate, currant, and licorice. Medium to long finish with seamless composure. Good example and though it's not a Scholium or Foley, it is spot on for $30. 5+12+16+8 = …

Very fruity and smooth. Had it with corned beef and cabbage and really complemented the strong taste of the corned beef.

Deep, dark, and loaded with rich berry preserves, this wine’s nose is inky and complex. Showing notes of pepper, smoke, and dried potpourri with a faint kitchen spice quality in the background, there is definitely a lot going on here. The palate is dominated by dark fruit preserves. A very dark core shows tones of forest berries, cracked black pepper, cold stones, and potpourri. This is a multilayered, mouth filling, deliciously hedonistic Petite Sirah, easily worth trying. Lunch at Willi's Wine Bar (Willi's Wine Bar, Santa Rosa, California) : Very dark red violet color; tart black fruit, blackberry, tar, lavender nose; a little tight, tart berry, ripe black fruit, clove, tar palate; needs 2-3 years; medium-plus finish

Tasting room pour. Typical dark saturated color. Sweet fruit on nose with a weird & distracting cinnamon candy type aroma. Overly sweet fruit on palate with some toasted oak. Very loose and unfocused. This wine is powered by its sugar. 78

Decanted 1 1/2 hours, consumed over 1 1/2 hours. Very smooth and a touch ripe for petite sirah, and showing the influence of the 5% viognier. Dark, sweet berries and some vanilla on the nose. Similar notes on the palate, with pervasive soft acids (malo?) and subtle black pepper, but the dominant impression is still rich, polished dark fruit. Good weight in the mouth, with a nice finish. I wanted to like this more, but it's missing some complexity and …

Black color. A bit closed on the nose. Slightly overripe entry of blackberry that turns structured on the stemmy finish. Ripe fruit is not enough to make a good wine.
