PnP over the course of 2 hours. Slightly chilled, clear, med rusty ruby. Intense and beautiful nose. At its peak, med/full body, astringent on the front end, rich and long-lasting finish with a bit of tartness and touch of tannin. Mostly dark and red fruit profile, cherry, cola, the usual KB traits. Very nice and nothing off. $100 winery direct.

Decanted 1 hour. In a good, mature drinking window but no signs of fading. Silky and mouth coating with a primary palate of red cherry and tea. Smooth, long finish with savory notes and earth.

Still hanging in there but time to drink up. Not decanted but opened a couple hours with a big pour before drinking. Solid acidic backbone and good color. Black fruit has largely yielded to secondary notes of earth, rhubarb? and savory spice. Better with food.

Mature and ready to drink, and it drank very well. Tannins fully resolved and what is left is a beautiful, multilayered Pinot Noir with notes of cherry, crushed rock and soil. Had to remind myself to slow down as it drank so easy.

Pop n poured. Out of the gate, it was singing! Wafting aromas of blueberry, dark cherry, orange peel, sage, cedar, and Vosne-like spices. Wonderfully complex and balanced. Kosta Browne signature silkiness. Pisoni tends to always be a fuller bodied and structured Pinot. In a great drinking window now, but will cruise for another 5-7 years easily. Delicious juice!

1 of 3 PN opened with Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner. IMO past peak. fully resolved tannins. red fruit med+ palate & finish. while this is nice wine, weak QPR. 2014 Sea-smoke Southing outshone it.

Still has YEARS to go. Vibrant, but well integrated. Terrific nose and finish while the mid palate is silky and expressive. Terrific.

Typical Russian River profile. Red fruit on the nose. Cherry, strawberry & spice with medium + body and finish. Very nice but not good QPR IMHO.

A bit closed and reticent on night one. Dark cherry fruit with a hint of alcohol and gylcerin and a somewhat clipped finish. Opened up a bit more on the second night with a bit more spice and a slightly longer finish. This bottle did not indicate any rush to finish these.

I think this was a 2016 that I had instead of 2015. Was a very nice wine I shared with family. Notes of chocolate and cherry and some vanilla and mint. Medium finish. Very interesting amd delicious

Started out strong with lots of red fruit flavors and spice with good acidity. After two hours in the carafe, it became rather one dimensional and boring. It lasted another day, but just barely. We decanted to help it open up and later we used our trusty Vacuvin for overnight storage. The second day was passably good. I don't think it has much to offer as a wine after this year.

Tasty but a bit subdued- had the impression that this bottle was nearing the end of its drinking window.

Might be one of the nicest KB iterations - rich, deep color; full nose of leather and cola; dark cherries and more cola in the tongue; and a smooth finish.

Full-bodied tight, narrow dark strawberry fruit with cola flavors, excellent structure, short finish, not sure why I rated previous drunk bottle so much higher. Maybe I didn't give this bottle enough time to open up. Nevertheless, it was disappointing

Terrific! Possibly the best KB Pinot I’ve tasted. Complex, subtle, loaded with beautiful fruit that wafts and satisfies the senses. Decanted and let breath for a while. Tasted great across two days.

Cherries to start, but raspberry, cola and cedar come through in this medium-light bodied wine. We polished off the bottle, so that tells you that it was pretty nice.

Medium ruby color throughout. Medium intense nose of black currant, black cherry, menthol, forest floor, sandalwood. On the palate more black cherry and black currant, followed by minty herbs. Medium body, medium alcohol, medium acidity. The tannins have integrated and the mouthfeel is smooth. It drinks really easily but it’s missing a little complexity on the palate. It’ll be interesting to see if it adds complexity with some more age.

Black cherry with licorice, violet and a touch of cedar on the finish. After an hour decant, the spice mellows and is more integrated into the cherry fruit.

Opened, but not decanted two hours before pouring. So much more than a typical Cali Pinot. Cherries for sure, but lots of dark and red fruit along with spices, earth, leather, and cedar.

Nice sour cherry and strawberry fruit with distinct notes of violets and Asian spice on the finish...this is a complex Pinot that is ready to drink and likely will get better with more age.

Deep berry notes on the nose with a secondary floral note that expanded as I moved on to each glass (last glass consumed with about 4-5 hours of air). Very pleasant mid-mouth feel with nicely integrated tannins. Many complained about this being over-extracted, I enjoyed the unabashed fruit-forward nature that I typically expect from RRV pinots. While delicious on its own, it went beautifully with pork chops.

Big dark pinot. Dark cherries, chocolate, spices and licorice. No discernible heat at all (these KB's need a few years of cellaring to mellow down). Big round mouthfeel with some ultra fine tannins far in the background. This is a well-executed proto-typical Russian River Valley pinot.

Smooth and supple on the palate. Muted red fruit and a bit coy overall. Nice diverse and complex aromas initially. Medium weight and extremely supple. Easy to sip and enjoy. Not over the top or extremely distinctive, but a very enjoyable bottle with no flaws or shortcomings. Maybe not up to the lofty price tag but solid from beginning to end.

Neither as fabulous nor as deficient as in the other comments, somewhere in between. Rich, dense fruit, black cherries and red cherries, with some plums. This bottle not sour at all. QPR debatable.

This was a beautiful bottle of wine. Great structure and body with both red and dark fruit elements. Not as rich as I anticipated, with an elegant and finessed delivery. I love this vineyard source and the flavor profile it provides. Classic Pinot flavors.

Fantastic Easter dinner wine. Aromas of dark fruits and flint. Initial taste of elderberry followed by a brown sugar note on the long finish. Later tastes showed hints of violets. A great transformation from a strong flavors to more delicate notes as time passed over about two hours.

A very delightful offering from Kosta Browne that exhibits a nice expression of the Russian River Valley. Mostly red fruit with good richness and flavor. Medium in weight and delivery on the palate. Not overly big or in your face, but rather nuanced and finessed. Solid effort and very enjoyable to drink. Not sure this is in line with a QPR ongoing but certainly no flaws or shortcomings are evident.

I really like Kosta Browne and buy a lot of it, but this Gary’s was not very good. Not a lot of depth...sour flavor. Maybe it’s too young but it couldn’t touch the 15 Sonoma.
