Eighth time tasted since 2017, last bottle of this vintage. Still garnet, only slightly translucent, no signs of browning at the edge. Aromas of pure blackberries, none of the roasted meat of previous bottles. Full-bodied on the palate, also pure blackberries, light tannins but nicely balanced. Long aftertaste, slightly hot. Terrific wine and in a perfect place. Smokey overtones, silky palate, a bit of black licorice, cocoa and lovely blackberry fruit. Terrific balance and silky smooth, but concentrated tannins. Fabulous.

This has turned out nicely with a bit of age. Still quite rich in a New World way with boysenberry and blackberry fruits but there is a lovely smoky slate mineral note on the nose and palate that is beguiling. The finish is fairly taut and lacks complexity but the flavor profile is quite nice. Perhaps further improvement from here?

Rich and concentrated, but perfectly balanced, with nice acidity and fine tannins. Very long aftertaste, slightly hot. Ready now, should easily hold another 3+ years. Outstanding wine. Full bodied, loaded with cherry, cassis, mineral, olive, and earthy, smokey, meaty notes. Quite complex, super smooth, unique and just plain delicious. Great on it's own and with our ribeye steak.

Fourth bottle since 2019, consistent notes. This was the favorite bottle of 12 syrahs from Washington, Oregon, Australia and Paso Robles, besting SQN and Hors Categorie. Deep purple color. Pronounced nose with red fruit, cherry and cranberry. Smoky and a little leather. Full mouth feel and long finish. Great complex wine. Drinking well now and has a few more years left. Not a lot of stank but enough to make it even more interesting. Lovely wine

PnP, followed over two nights. Savory Rocks notes, as expected, with an elegant touch. This wine is in a gorgeous spot now and shows no signs whatsoever of slowing down. Feel free to hold for another 5+ years.

Perfectly balanced yet maintaining plenty of depth. Notes of almost raisiny fruit, a hint of cinnamon, wet stones and rounded purple fruit. Cool beans this is killer shit!

Five Syrah, blind (four WA, one OR), plus two Reynvaan non-blind : Not decanted. The nose on this was killer right away: a complex mélange of raspberry, earl grey tea, pepper, and soy sauce. The palate was perfectly balanced and, even though it's a mid-weight wine, the concentration was outstanding. Black-hole dark purple. Violets and graphite on the nose. Intense umami, soy, asian spices, tar—the whole palate of savory syrah notes. Not too much funk, distinguishing itself from WW peers. Well-integrated fruit glides into the finish with dense crushed blackberries and cassis. Delicious wine with plenty of life left.

Decanted 90 min. Decided to try this one for Open That Bottle Night 2021. It did not disappoint. Savory, briney funk with blackberry fruit, espresso and tar flavors. I detected notes of orange peel on the lengthy finish as well. Really delicious stuff that didn't change at all when I finished the bottle on night 2. Drink now - 2027+.

Surprisingly light texture. Olive, brine and umami upfront with a moderately sweet fruit backdrop and a tart acidic finish. I like it although expected it to pack a bit more heft. That is not disappointing by the way. More elegant than powerful.
