Friday Night Brown Bagger (Rich & Dana's) : Inky purple color; opaque. Chocolate, vanilla, currants and blackberry aromas. Flavors of ripe black fruit; hint of prunes. Long, balanced finish.

Poured thru venturi and decanted for 30 minutes. Big fruit balanced well with tannins that are not overpowering. Nice glass of big fruit.

Very smooth, very rich - almost chocolately, powerful but with a hit of alcohol that is a little distracting. lots of blackberry and black plum fruit.

Very different than the previous bottles consumed. This was an oak monster and way over the top stewed/extracted fruit. The oak those was out of control.

Picked this at downtown Indy restaurant with friends. Awesome. very tasty - deep, wonderful fruit, well balanced. Would buy this by the case if I could find it. $57 on the wine menu which was a steal.

Earthquake is dynamite. Intense, beautiful, deep purple color. The palate is an explosion: blueberry pie, vanilla, chocolate, pepper, sweetness. Decently long finish. Good acidity, which matches well with pasta and marinara sauce, believe it or not. On a recommendation, I also paired with chocolate. Good on its own as well. Deelish.

Classic in its profound bacon fat, black pepper, blueberries and blackberries. Velvety smooth tannins and drinking so well now I wonder if this will hold up for the long term. I'm hoping it does ... wonderful PS in so many ways.

A real fruit bomb. Deep inky color. Nose of bacon fat and some floral. Big fruit flavors. Very sweet with a good amount of smoke. needs good steak or barbecue to stand up to the ripe fruit flacors.

Big, in your face, jammy, wonderful. Not enough expressions to cover how wonderful this one is. After a couple of years on the shelf, it developed a bit of sediment, but nothing which detracted from the experience. My wife & I love this one.

Super dark flat black. Profound nose of bacon fat, berry, mocha, fried banana,and herbs. Large body and a touch of risidual sugar (RS), medium tannin grip, and low acidity. Chocolate, cherry, blackberry, lavender flavors with great silkyness. Tiny bit of oak dill. Long balanced finish - what's not to like. (4+13+17+8) = 92

What a great little surprise! Dark purply ink color. Smells of plums, berries, and cocoa powder, and tastes of same, with some spice, strawberries, and vanilla tossed in. There's a very powerful cocoa-vanilla profile. A little fakey fake on the fruit, but fun. It has over 15% alcohol, but you'd never know it - it's integrated extremely well. This was my second bottle of this and it was just as delicious. The cork was so dark it looked black. The wine is so a deep purple and a very fruity nose and palate. And the alcohol content is very high and deceptive, given the smoothness of the wine.

Really nice. Ripe fruit, balanced against a reasonable backbone of tannin. Loads of blueberry and ripe raspberry fruit on the palate, with a moderate finish. Nice wine. Great QTP ratio!

This was my second Earthquake wine in as many nights. I tried the Cab last night and the Petite Sirah tonight. The PS is also a very, very nice wine. The smell and the taste are of lighter berries, like blueberries and red plums. There is also a nice flavor of vanilla, this being less oakey than the Cab. This is great wine that I can see a lot of people really enjoying. Unfortunately I'm not one of those people, however I rate it highly because I really can see excellence in winemaking here. The nose is a powerful blend of chocolate and blueberries. The mouthfeel is velvety and the tannins are nicely balanced. I think this wine is drinking very well right now. The 2nd and final PS we had this evening was the Michael-David 2004 Earthquake PS (California, Lodi; sampled 12/11/07). This wine had some of the coolest labeling I've seen. Initially, it looked like blueberry juice when sampled out of my Schott Zweisel Diva Bordeaux stems, which was pretty amazing in and of itself.
