A few years later and this wine has very little fruit, light colored. Minerality and earthy flavors remain. Feels like it has a little age on it. Tobacco and spice forward, tanic finish.

Deep red color, the expected color of a 2012 that was aging fine. The wine showed good viscosity re its leg structure when swirled. initially the nose had a distinct sulfur smell that dissipated with decanting and as it warmed up. A subtle nose featuring garrigue, licorice and herbal fragrances. On the palate: hints of mocha, mint, and berries. A chalky yet lively mouthfeel with high acid and tannin. This is super dry, well balanced juice; great with food. Leave this open for awhile.

As others have mentioned, this is a very good, smooth, middle of the road Zin. It's not a high alcohol fruit bomb but rather a light and somewhat sophisticated Zin with mellow dark fruit and a lingering, but muted spicy finish. This would be a good Zin for the Cab lover or someone not quite ready for an in-your-face Dry Creek Zin. A strong 89 points. Widely distributed.

Surprising Zin, its <14% yet its Napa, and its Zin, so its restraint is the most admirable quality. Balanced spice and fruit, semi-opaque ruby color. No need to age.

Clear, medium ruby color. Primary aromas of plum & black cherry fruit, with dried lavender, anise, tea leaf, and hints of vanilla. Medium bodied & expressive on the palate with juicy acidity. Plum and earthy berry notes, with nuanced brambly earth and spice depth. Fleshy polished tannins, moderate length on the finish. Elegant, finesse-driven style, very food-friendly but great on its own. Begs you to keep drinking it. This should drink well for a while.

Tasting at Frog's Leap : Clear, medium ruby color. Showing aromas of plum, honey & spice, earth and fennel on the nose. Medium+ acid on the palate with bright & juicy plum & cherry fruit along with brambly earth and mineral high-tones. Grainy polished tannins. Elegant in style. Clean mineral notes on the finish. Very nice.
