Nose is a big burst of blackberry and spice. Very fragrant. Plenty of floral notes as well. Great body. Not overly tannic, but still a pleasant amount. Blackberry jam and pepper. Slightly sweet finish. Really solid wine. B+

Double blind, this was firm, structured and brooding but with so much tannin. Hard for me to enjoy, others liked it more. Needs lots of time.

Agree with MELZAR on all points. Delicious. Nice sediment at the bottom shows us that the importer's (Rosenthal) claim that most of his wines are unfined and unfiltered is likely true in this case.

90 for currant drinking, but worth a couple more points after tannins soften with age. Well balanced wine with the tannin still a little dominant. Great acidity makes this a good food wine. Long finish.

Dinner at Home (San Francisco, CA) : Moderately to very aromatic, some black fruit, some red fruit, nice melange, slight cedar spice; palate is medium bodied, fresh medium-plus acid, fruity but fades a bit quickly; short-medium finish. Very nice food wine, but I'm not confident that the additional time has added much. 84-85

A Spirited wine with lots of flavorsome fruit. Pleasant tannins and well integrated oak. Only problem I feel is the noticeably high alcohol. No Barolo but still very good. A nice weekday wine.

Intriguing wine. Would have like to have had it a few years ago but it's not completely past it's time. Average acidity with some initial weight followed by the remnants of some nice Dolcetto fruit. My local Italian market has more and at $14 I'm glad I tried it but won't buy more.

Dark purple, abundant rich fruit but structure that makes it a food wine. Nice expression of Dolcetto and great QPR for the times.
