Deep purple color with high viscosity. Medium+ intensity nose with notes of raspberry, blackberry, raisins, stone, bramble and a hint of pepper. The palate is dry with high alcohol, heavy tannins, medium+ acid and a full body. Pronounced flavors of raisins, blackcurrant, black cherry and blackberries. Well balanced with a long finish.

Great QPR and delicious ready to roll. Ripe and rich but with great balance and energy. Pizza night

Nice supple black cherry, nose & palate. Even nicer on day 2. Drinking really well right now. I might wait for my last bottle just to take a look at it a year later. But … I’ll probably have it this year in the next month or two while it’s still drinking so nicely with exuberance. Some Victor influence, Mokelumne River sandy loam, adding interest. A little savory character on the finish. Elegant & refined. 2 of 3

Bright red in color. 14.4% ABV. Gorgeous nose of red fruits, anise and flowers. Medium body with perfect acidity. Bright, juicy fruits in spades. Strawberry, raspberry, earth and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Just a glorious outlier in the Sandlands portfolio as this more closely resembles some of the wines Tegan makes at Turley. Best over the next 3-5 years.

Focused, penetrating, floral, light on the palate. Really nice job. Should continue to improve through the 20s.

Decanted. Now 1.5h after decant. Nice aromas of just right blackberries, blueberries, bark, even some garrigue. Palate w tart blackberries, ripe blueberries, bark, herbs, some dark chocolate, garrigue and a touch of earth and mild vanilla. Nice finish of black and blue fruits, dark chocolate, bark, and some vanilla. Medium body w very nice acids, mild+ tannins on midpalate. This is definitely on the elegant and restrained side of zinfandel, which I really like. The acids also give a lot …

Really pretty red fruit. Great balance. Will be even better in a half decade or so.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2022 Sandlands Lodi Zinfandel pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with mostly tart and ripe mixed bramble fruit: blackberries, Marionberries, mulberries, raspberry, ground black pepper, a mix of red and purple flowers, and stony earth. On the palate, the white is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the …
