five years since my last bottle and still very fruit forward - lots of berries and cherries but not the most subtle of wines

10-11 years seems like a good age, since this bottle was extremely well balanced, retaining some structure but not showing any raw, green roughness. It is closer to a 95 than to a 93, but I found it a little bit shy, although by no means thin. The usual disclaimer says that my tastebuds could be the weak part of the equation.

I had forgotten all about this purchase 7 years ago. Lousy cork, but an absolutely a wonderful pinot noir. Agree with Benniemac on taste.

Lovely floral notes and a delight on the palate, enjoyed it with our Seafood risotto. NB If tasted solely on it's own it would be considered outstanding, but when compared directly to the 2013 Mount Mary Pinot opened at the same time for a horizontal tasting, it was definitely bested, but not by a lot.

BYOB - Finewines.se - 2013 - 10 years ago; 4/28/2023-4/29/2023 (Vinkällaren Grappe) : This gave my some goosebumps and for me a clear WOTN in the tasting. A powerful pinot from Australia that for me in the tasting also showed least aging of them all. All typcial pinot notes with a very nice complexity, and length. A very well made wine that I believe will age very well.

BYOB - "2013, 10 Years Ago" with Finewines.se (Vinkällaren Grappe, Stockholm, Sweden) : Generous fruit, oak, herbs, dense body, voluminous, fatty. Chili pepper ath the end with a little tingle at the tip of the tounge. An amazing wine!

Appearance - Deep ruby with a garnet rim (3) Aroma - Raspberry, strawberry, earthy overtones, mint, mushroom, sweet spice. Wonderful (5) Taste/Texture - Plenty of berry fruit up front along with a smokey edge. Tannins and acidity then cut through and finishes with warming spices a lingering flavour of raspberry and plum. Medium body and acidity. (5) Aftertaste - Long finish, initially raspberry then a pleasant smokiness lingers (3) Overall - This was terrific, layers of aroma and flavour, and …

A special wine. Dark garnet with a bit of gold starting on the rim. Earthy nose, blackberry, mushroom, cardamom. Very rich savoury earthy palate, but good dark berry fruit with some sour cherry. Tannin and acid perfect. Good length.’ Terrible cork though- completely fell apart. No evidence of oxidization thankfully.

the fruit is very much to the fore and has quite an aggressive edge to it - not really my style of pinot noir - it will be interesting to see if it mellows a bit with age

This is gorgeous. Has a rather unique profile too. Loads going on. It’s smoky and has a forest floor feel to the nose. Whole bunch is prominent on both the nose and to taste, very much so on the later, but the quality oak and depth of fruit kick in balance it out. Savoury and hints of sweetness. Plenty to experience over the course of a bottle. I could drink this every day of the week.

Had very high expectations, and then was a little underwhelmed. Perhaps it wasn't the right night for this wine. I found it a bit lightweight, with the fruit being a bit sweet. Was expecting more structure. There are good elements to the wine, acidity is muted, tannins fine and integrated, but the overall package lacked presence. Hopefully this was just a one-off.

More evolved with dark fruit, red fruit, herbs, clay and a long creamy finish of fruit with an iodine lick. Very classy. Reminded me of Morey St Denis. 93+

Decanted and served with Christmas lunch. This bottle seemed more youthful and primary than prior bottles. Loads of dark stewed fruit with a creamy finish that went on for ages. Supberb balance. It did show some pine needle and forest floor. So classy.

Popped n poured. Much more evolved than last time with more forest floor and saline notes than fruit. Bricking around the rim. Very classy though given how stellar other bottles have been within the last few months probably bottle variation with faster aging.

Blind Chard and Pinot Tasting : Ash, blackcurrant, rhubarb and stems. High in acidity with the stem showing through. Mid length. Not bad.

NobleRottersSydney - US pinot (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney) : {screwcap, 13.5%} [Greg] Spicy tang on the nose. Forest floor aromas. Seductive pinot fruit with rich French oak. Long linear, fine-grained palate, combining subtle oak, medium-heft chalky tannins, impeccable balance, medium weight (tending towards fuller-bodied) and spicy red fruits; all the flavours you want in pinot. Medium/long finish. First class in every way. Should be lovely for the next half-dozen years easily given the great structure and balance.

Stunning Aussie PN that would easily be mistaken for a Cote Nuits Grand Cru. Nose of burnt caramel with some stewed fruit. Opened with a cornucopia of flavours including baked cherry, plum, coffee, gingerbread, Asian spice and after a while some stemmy notes. The wine did not seem quite as open as last year (should have double decanted) and gave a hint of it's potential. Each sip ended with an earthy iodine "salt lick" and a feel of rolling pebbles …

Superb. The nose is beautiful and from there it just gets better. Bursting with so many different flavours its a complex masterpiece. Constantly evolving in the glass. Should have plenty of years ahead of it and should improve, if that even possible.

Very surprising. Wasn't expecting this to show so well so young. Double decant and a few hours in the glass, this purred from start to finish. Classy, elegant, balanced to perfection. This is the real deal. Drink now or later. I'm keen to lay mine down for a decade or so, if I can keep my hands off them

Totally adorable. Sun warm and mature raspberry, red currant, white plum adjoined by subtle strawberry are among the first complex impressions. After some air, clean fresh, elegant, yet massive led pencil emerges. A true wow experience - but on the elegant side. After about 30 minutes in the glass the 100% new Allier oak makes its first entrance, but this is balanced by the 100% whole clusters. In combination the oak and stems make this wine lovely structured and certainly …
