Grapefruit zest and salted popcorn on the nose of this younger wine. Some pear skin greenness and a touch of buttered leek. With air just a suggestion of of ground almonds. The palate is dry and textured. Oily and rich. Some peach flesh and sage / chicken bouillon savouriness. Lovely.

Office tasting (At the office) : Interesting to put this up against the Alain Chavy Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillons 2015. For depth of flavour, nose and weight, this just won. The main event remains the lemon curd finish, but it's a notch behind the 2019 that wowed my friends in the autumn.

Wonderful. Delicious rich, Burgundian like Grenache, probably at its best so drink up.

An interesting (but not altogether successful) combination of aromatic pear drop, plenty of broad, biscuity and mealy notes along with unfortunately rather mean-spirited fruit. Quite bitter towards the finish, along with a note of manuka honey.

Much as last summer. Still very enjoyable and no hurry.

The nose reminds me of Pouilly Fuisse in some ways. There is oak there and a certain nuttiness amongst the citrus. But on the palate the similarity is not so strong. There is grapefruit and the lemon is more lemon curd than lemon zest. It’s delicious and soft on the aftertaste. Good QPR

Found an extra bottle. Drank it to see how it was getting on, as I have another 6 in remote storage I was wondering whether I should get delivered soon. The lemon peel elements which were the finish previously are now very much the main event. The youthful primary elements are toned down.Clearly no hurry and I think it could expand further. Really delicious, but I think I'll leave the other bottles a bit longer to develop further, I have …

Another lovely bottle of the 2018. Given so many so-so bottles, perhaps vintage is critical? Sharp, focussed, energetic and a little oaky. PYCM like. Nose of lemon and chalk. Palate likewise but with an almost chewy citrus pith character that demands attention. Great stuff and no hurry. Shame it was my last one!

Felt as though it was starting to hit its stride, but still a bit tight and oaky - think another year or two could see further improvement. Good depth of fruit, quite taut and citric and thus surprisingly refreshing on a hot summer's day.

Seemed to have a touch of oak, but super rich and loads of zing. Brilliant.

Ultimately what really matters about this wine is that it is just so delicious. It's almost 3 years old now, and there is no sign of it disappearing into a secondary-transition dumb phase like so many quality wines. It is singing with a huge nose from the moment you pull the cork, the big fruit flavours, the well-integrated French oak, the concentration, intensity, length and sweet lemon peel finish. And he has made it almost entirely (someone claims it is …

A really lovely bottle. Fresh and juicy, and nicely oaked. Yum.

Good without being great. This bottle seemed a little hollow in the mid-palate?

No particularly detailed note as was with friends; pleasant and easy to drink but marred by a slight hint of vanilla, meaning it came across a little too sweet.

As a bargain white Chateauneuf substitute, you can't go wrong with this. It is a big, well-balanced, broad wine with nice focus and length. An expert reviewer of SA wine gave this 95. I expected that to be an exaggeration, but it is cheap enough that if he was 6 or 7 marks off it would still be a bargain. The merchant who sold it to me gave a drinking window of 2019-2025. I think at least that. It is …

Relatively simple, but good. Not fruity. Some chalkiness - that's a good thing. Even better the next eve when more citrus came out. Really good. Classy.

Classy. Lovely low-key chalkiness, a touch of citrus. Broad in the mouth but focussed.
