Exceptional. Fully mature, lots of sous bois, good acid but totally balanced.

Soy, under-ripe red fruit, hint of green note, flowers and minerals on the nose. Palate has the the tartness with mix of red fruit and citrus.and sweetnes. A bit lean and tart for a grand cru.

SL Birthday Dinner : From a magnum. Intense soya on the nose with amazing layered palate. The palate seem to dance peeling back layers and layers of flavours. Tannins was soft.

Tasted at the annual wine group picnic. I was really looking forward to drinking this but found it difficult to evaluate as it had warmed up past a temp I like to drink reds. Judgement withheld.

Bourgogne soirée (Coffe-Bar restaurant, Tel-Aviv) : Medium dark cherry garnet red. Delicate elegant secondary & tertiary nose of raspberry, cherry and plum accompanied by leathery-earth forest floor. Some cocoa & espresso notes as well. Though seductive, less than expected on the palate: at or a bit beyond its peak, fully mature, somewhat lean, but still enjoyable now. medium bodied palate shows balance, depth and class on medium to long finish where the tannins are mostly resolved. a little short on …

2012 - Last Simple one in 2012 (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant, The Forum Shopping Mall, Orchard Road) : Alcohol :: 13% En Magnum. Medium garnet red, a bit cloudy. Beautiful nose here: sweet raspberry, red cherry and plum accompany by complex leathery, forest floor and earth. When it sit in the glass sweet red floral scents and espresso note emerged. Really seductive. However, the palate suggested otherwise and true to the vintage: high acidic backbone which to me is overwhelming …

Opened and poured, this wine showed well from the beginning. This wine shows maturity with an underlying youthful element that keeps it fresh and focused. The color is a maturing medium ruby that is appropriate for the wine age. The medium bodied palate shows balance, depth and class on medium to long finish where the tannins are mostly resolved. This is most likely at or around its peak but should continue to drink well for many years.

Gorgeous spice and bright cherry fruit on nose. Typical Dujac nose. Almost orange peel/zest. Very pure. Stemmy on the palate. Very pure with high acid and solid fruit behind it. Very bright and 96. Pretty. Nose - 6/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 2/2 = 18/20.

Red and sappy. A bit cloudy. Some tea notes and raspberry fruit. Really pretty aromatics. Tannic finish begs time. Great Charmes and a very good '96.

Sous commanderie d'Edmonton 2010 Spring Dinner (Jack's Grill, Edmonton) : Seven bottles opened all very consistent. This wine was showing beautifully. Wonderful ripe purple fruit on nose and palate. Great concentration of fruit and balance with soft tannins and a very nice finish. This was served in a flight with a 2003 Montrachet and very respectably held its own in comparison to the Montrachet. Of interest this wine was an excellent complement to all three cheeses served, in particular surprise …

Color: bricking, with watery amber rim. Nose: earth, violets, cherry fruit, leather, game, bit of spice. Palate: Rich dried strawberry fruit, damp earth, bit of cocoa, dried flowers. So well preserved, great acidity.

From the first sniff, every taster was charmed by this Charmes. Lovely fruit leaping out of the glass, ripe and round palate, a tiny but important dash of spice, and noteworthy length. The most accessible '96 grand cru I've tasted in some time. A-

Wow, this magnum was fantastic. Everyone at Bouchon was blown away by this wine. It was like essence of rose with cumin, cinnamon, and clove (brown) spices enveloped with nori. The texture was pure liquid silk. A true world class wine.

See 1800kidney note below "at its prime" - so true! Which makes me wonder about this wine. Grand Cru 96 being at its prime now?? I felt this wine is lacking in many ways, somewhat diluted in a way, though I was corrected by a friend who said it just lacks the fruitiness expected - whatever..Good though nothing to get excited about aromas. Tannins are fully integrated and even soft (you would not guess this was a 96 in a …

IWFS at Cafe DuPont (Birmingham AL) : Luscious, soft round with wonderful fruit and long finish. Sampled as a fly by in the middle of Cote Rotis, which did not help with the context, the the Dujac is at its prime
