A very typical Sauvignon Blanc from New Zeeland. The nose offers gooseberries, cat urine, lemon and asparagus. Acidity hits you in the face like a bitch slap and you more or less only get gooseberries towards the end. A pleasant SB to go with seafood!

Light silver/gold color. Aromas of straw, hibiscus flowers, wet stones and gooseberries. Flavors of grapefruit, gooseberries, lemon, fresh herbs and minerals. Slight touch of freshly cut grass on the medium-plus finish. Light bodied with gripping acidity. Crisp and refreshing. Excellent QPR.

Strong lime smell, even for a Sauvignon Blanc. Notes of green peppers, not quite a bell pepper, maybe pickled jalapeño-esque. Very acidic and refreshing. Light on the palate, mostly tastes of honeydew, green apple and freshly cut grass. Pretty standard SB. Maybe a little too acidic for my taste, though.

Scent: I first smelled a hint of yeast that indicated that it needed to be aerated some more. A very aromatic scent of nettles, pears, passionfruit and lime. Taste: Dry and very fresh with hints of nettles, gooseberries, pears and citrus.

An attempt at tasting notes using the Tasting Note Assistant... The wine looks Blonde colored. It smells like Oregano, and Cut Green Grass. It tastes like Stoniness, Apple, Pear, and Gooseberry. The body is Light/Medium. The wine is textured Linear. The wine finishes Medium. This was a spectacular wine. I look forward to acquiring additonal bottles of future vintages. In our top three of NZ SBs, along with Drylands and Kim Crawford.

New Zealand (Waterford Wines Milwaukee) : grassy and light on it's gooseberry. peppy greenness in the nose. vibrant mineral driven palate, but still goosey, albeit, not over the top in it's NZ expression.

Not nearly as riotious on the nose as the Momo, and more asparagusy and less charming to boot. Tighter mid palate too. Does it just need more time? Is it just a more serious style?

Old Vs. New World with Bristol University Wine Circle (Goldney Hall, Bristol) : Very fruit-driven, good acidity but not very well balanced. A little sharp and alcohol coming through hard at the back (though I'm oversensitive to alcohol, so other people might not be bothered by this). Not a wine I'd buy again, especially at £10 retail.

This one is a delight -- grassy, ripe citrus (but no overwhelming grapefruit like some SBs). Has a nice sophisticated feel about it. Definitely would buy again.

Apperently "the" orginal vintner in Marlborough. Grassy, elderflower, and ripness on the nose. Crisp, lean and blitzing across the palate. Simple, resfreshing and all you could have ever asked for.
