Steppe Cellars Sémillon

Yakima Valley Maiden Voyage Tasting Tour!; 11/14/2012-11/18/2012 (Yakima Valley AVA, Naches Heights, Snipes, Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain, Rattlesnake AVAs) : Scents of apple and cajoling lemon zest. Honey crisp apple alongside flavors of apricot, lemon drops and tart pears. Bordering on crisp at the finish with interesting herbal notes, not unlike dill weed on the back end. Not as lively on the palate as the nose, but still standing considering this is a 2007.

Not our cup of tea

A sweet nose of beeswax, light banana, fig, and citrus. The palate was a little sweet as well but had some nice stone/chalk, apple, pear, and lemon. Went well with some Humboldt Fog.

On the nose there were hints of sweet fruit, peach and nectirine w/a host of flowers, a few steamed veggies, and some chalk. All followed to the palate except the sweetness. Nice sem mouthfeel and went pretty well with a couple of cheeses. I liked this wine but not as much as the write up I read about it in Wine Press NW.
