Angelica Wine Club - New Zealand (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield) : Served blind. Medium minus intensity aromas of red over blackberry, super clean, a little sweet spice, very slight alcohol prickle. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, lots of oaky tannins close down the palate, fruit is a bit dried out.

Actually lovely and surprisingly youthful. Cellared on release.

Love this producer and this didn't let me down, the sweet fruited CO nature is there but has some welcome rustic charm and character. Will develop a bit more complexity too with a few more years.

GMs - Kevin Farewell #2 @ Encasa : Redcurrant, stalk, some cedar and spice. Nice acidity that works well with the bright fruit. Still plenty of youthful exuberance here, but it is enjoyable now and I think probably over the next 5-6 years.

Screw N Pour served over 2 hours. Vibrant aromas gain strength and complexity with airtime. Medium+ body, with generous acids, fine tannins. This wine makes a statement, and does it well. Long finish. Lovely. Should have bought more. 14,2% abv, drink thru 2016

Wow, I loved this...and I got some on close out for $16!! Earthy, slight stinky at first, with strawberry, forest floor, black cherry, and wild mushroom aromas. Black cherry, tart cherry, spice, and earth on the palate. Very nice finish. Delicious and complex...yum.

Decant it for at least 1 hour. Really good, quite rich and satisfying. Good acidity still, will keep longer but very good now

Far and away the best sub $40 Pinot I've ever had or can imagine, California can't compete with this. Hits my style bullseye with lots of verve, fruit character, and fresh forest aroma. Very clean.

Wonderful bouquet. More structure than the Eaton Family Vineyard version...

Popped and poured (screwed and poured?), bright red in the glass. Nose of sour cherries and recently cut hedges. Cranberries and pomegranate on the palate, with notes of earth and cocoa. Sappy and acidic, great to pair with almost anything.

Big and ripe new world pinot, but with the acidity, spice and earth balancing it out, it still works with food. Would prefer less alcohol, but so tasty, can't really complain. Love the twistoff.

Popped and poured. Soft nose of cherries, brambles and sea beans, with cranberries, cherries and pomegranate seeds. Gains some weight in the glass. Nice acidity begs for food. Great QPR.

Interesting. Some of the subtle earthy, nutty undertones and balance complimented by the fruit (darker--blueberry, cranberry, strawberry) forward characterstics of CA Pinot. More earth than Oregon. Not as good as the Rippon in my opinion.

Very, very good on it's way to excellent with a few years cellar time. Mouthwateringly juicy yet in no way cloying; great pure fruit yet a wonderful structure for that fruit to hang on. Also notes of spice and loam. On the nose, this evolved tremendously with about an hour or hour and a half in the glass. Initially reticent and limited to cherry and earth, it became much more complex.

Dusty nose with notes of cherries and cocoa, on the palate there are primary flavours of red fruit, however it seems to lack some complexity. Tastes like it needs some more time to come together. Good effort nonetheless.

Rocking delicious wine, playing a cranberry, bark and black fruit Sonoma Coast to the Eaton bottling's more RRV styled soft earth, red fruit, and sassafrass. Both these Pyramid Valley Pinots have been excellent and quite different from one another, I can't decide which one I liked better. Guess I'll have to get more!

This is pinot noir to fall in love with. Blueberries and moss. Supple fruit, hints of chocolate and sandstone. Putting the others down to see what they do. A very impressive wine.

This was really good last night, if young. Dark fruit with pretty snappy acidity, lithe, tight profile in the mouth. More of a feminine style, cold climate Pinot Noir. With air the nose develops some high toned camphor, dark chocolate that comes and goes, with the black cherry fruit. Silky mouthfeel with ripe tannins, and nice acidity. Maybe one to cellar for 5-7 years, but was enjoyable now. Screwtop. I would buy this again.
