R Wines Shiraz SUXX

Hopefully it will improve with time in the bottle. We didn't finish it - just too sharp and not a cohesive flavor profile.

Very dark, and inky in color. Intensely alcoholic in the nose, too much actually. Ran this through the aerator to open it up and drank over a couple of hours, but still couldn�t seem to get the alcohol to burn off. Dark fruit, mostly strawberry, and some blueberry. Tannic and salty mouthfeel. Alcohol and strawberry, some raspberry, dark fruits dominate, definitely an Aussie fruit bomb. Very robust on day 1. Mellowed on Day 2. Very tannic. I like a big Shiraz so I enjoyed.

There was just enough fruit character to keep this in the eighties. Nose of ripe, dark fruit. A simple fruit profile on the palate with a finish like a shot of vodka.

Very fruit forward, but not overpowering....impressive.

a decent aussie shiraz, but not a value wine. picked up some interesting complexity on the 2nd and 3rd day but this wine didn't distinguish itself from any others of similar style.

Well the label says it all on this one. This wine Suxx. This to me tastes heavily manipulated, almost Mollydooker-ish but not as well done. The fruit seems syrupy and the oak seems chipped. $20 for this. Damn

Served as part of a tasting at the Wine Club SF. Sweet blackberry liqueur on the nose; light in body with a dry finish with citrus notes. Fair to Good.

Dark red violet color; blueberry and vanilla nose; rich blueberry and berry palate; medium-plus finish

blue berry, black berry and chocolate on the nose. flavors were similar. long finish. reminded me of a toned down version of Marquis Philips 9 shiraz. worth the 15 that i paid.

Wine Exchange - The Dark Side : Big oak nose; Very ripe; Sweet; Chocolate; Heavy

In the glass, deep dark purple, borderline inky, slightly glass staining. On the nose, liquor, blackberries, vanilla. On the palate, massive amounts of berries, tar, liquorice, mint...and alcohol. Lots. A slight bit of vodka up front. Body wise, silky smooth and elegant. Remarkable integration considering the fruit and alcohol. Bottom line, this wine is over the top right now, but all components are in line for something special in 5-8 years. Buy and hold.
