An excellent sample of Tempranillo, beautiful fruit, freshness, long finish Seems to me some reviews are non Rioja oriented

(decanted 3 hours before drinking) - color: tawny purple; nose: light oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, dark fruit taste with a slight touch of rhubarb, medium-length finish with notes of black pepper, smoke, and tobacco; overall: average rustic-tasting rioja, probably better with food (manchego cheese, pork, olives) than on its own, reasonable QPR ($13/bottle at Joe Canal in Lawrence NJ), drink it now -- don't think it's a candidate for cellaring at this point.

Drinking beautifully now. Leather and Forrest floor dominate the nose rather than predominance of fruit. Tannins nicely tempered with time - liquorice, spice and rose petals nicely interwoven together.

Wanted a random weeknight bottle and found this hiding. Good not great. Slight funk, but itll probably burn off. Smooth red fruit, good acidity, not complex but just intriguing enough to keep you coming back. Some secondary notes, as the funk I mentioned which is more dried mushroom and forrest floor notes. That said, this is about as much as you could ask for a $9 bottle of reserva. Thanks Costco.

Great QPR. We liked it and felt it had a remarkable amount of body and flavor for ~$10 wine. Definitely a great pizza wine.

Nothing remarkable. A simple pop and pour. Undrinkable on day 2. Drink up quick and don't expect much. Not even worth the $9 at Costco.

Relatively dark garnet, concentrated for cheap Rioja. Nose is simple but nice, with plum and black cherry and a little good quality oak. Palate is pretty damn solid. Decent fruit richness, maybe a bit more than balanced, but finish lingers. Again, black cherry, vanilla, leather in that order. This tastes more like a $18 bottle than an $8 bottle. I’ll buy more.

Consistent with my notes on the 2010. Spanish-heavy style, with good depth, nice oak, and quite well balanced by some good acidity. A satisfying wine and pretty much as good as it gets for 10 EUR.
