Domaine Jessiaume Beaune 1er Cru Cent-Vignes

Better than my earlier Coravin note. Sometimes I think popping the cork and letting wine open reveals more than a quick sample via Coravin.

Had a healthy Coravin pour. First taste was disappointing as it was very “thin” meaning it felt diluted. I poured it back and forth from my wine glass to a large water glass to aerate this a bit and let it sit while I drank a Spaten Oktoberfest, delicious as always. The wine gained some depth but was still lacking when compared to a Burg I had a few weeks ago.

Marc Jessiaume (Burgundy Wine Company) : This was originally going to come between the Santenay-Gravieres and the Auxey-Duresses, but it was reordered to be served last which was absolutely the right thing to do: this is the deepest wine in the lineup with dark, elastically grippy fruit that totally saturates the tannin.
