Wente Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Pacific Vista Karl Wente Vineyard

Decanted just over 2 hrs, perhaps not long enough. It did opened up nevertheless. Medium yet complex ... fruitiness with red cherry and darkfruits. Dried berries follow slowly. Accompanied by oaked and dark chocolate undertones. Intense peppery to complete the aroma. On palate, more darkfruits and blackcurrants with herbal notes. Somewhat chalky. High in spiciness. Tannins not overpowering. Medium finishing. Drink now!

Very mellow and buttery but left the palette too quickly. This was our first Livermore wine and we were pleasantly surprised. We will likely be paying some vineyards a visit in the not too distant future.

Nice, mellow cab. I didn't get the impression that this wine would gain much from further bottle aging.

Decanted for two hours. A nice deep plum color, nose of currant, blackberry, liquorice and black pepper. Taste is smooth overall with solid undertones of berries and plum. Has a decent tannic backbone adding structure. Acidity is a bit flabby, but an overall decent finish. At this price point $18 - 20, I think it's a great cabernet. Not as bold as some other California Cabs I've had, but a very nice drink. I've purchased this wine now on 3 …

Black color. Very mineral driven nose with some interesting hints of orange zest. Light entry of clean red & black currant with good toast & lively but tame acidity on the finish. A high point for this wine & seriously affordable for everyday cabernet.

Reasonable cabernet. Could keep for a couple more years.
