Eh. A pretty big miss for me by bedrock standards. Beautiful, sexy nose is the high point here. Hot, monolithic, extracted, and a sense of sweetness on the dark-fruited palate, without the freshness and tension that is a hallmark of most Bedrock wines. No flaws and enough depth that I�m not going to dump my glass, but Very little Syrah character - could easily be mistaken for a modern-leaning wine from the right bank or Priorat.

Very delicate, elegant Zin. Focused Zin fruit flavor, not a lot of additional secondary flavors, medium finish. Appears to be pretty resolved. Appealing for its elegance but lacking some of the additional complexity you see in most Bedrock wines. Ready.

PnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium garnet from core to near rim where some edge browning appears. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developed aromas of dried red fruit - strawberry & cranberry, baking spice, saddle leather, and iced tea. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium tannin is soft and resolved, medium+ intensity, medium+ body, 14.6% abv with developed flavors dried cranberry, allspice, and sweet tobacco with a medium+ finish. I didn’t take notes but this is pretty darn good with smoked bbq ribs. Popped cork 3 hours before pouring, no decant. I learned early on to give Bedrock a lot of extra aging time. Not great at scoring but would compare to a 93ish WS point Carlisle.

I found this wine lighter than normal zin - not flawed in any sense, just a delicate zin that had all characteristics, just in an elegant manner.

P&P, but notes from day 2. Flavors of blackberry, black pepper, tobacco and a long finish of chocolate and coffee. Creamy texture, with light tannins and medium acidity. Drinks like a young wine still. Kind of bummed this is my last bottle, because I think this is still on the upside of its evolution. My initial thoughts on this were around 15 years, but I think this is a 20 year wine--at least. Drink now - 2034+.

Reminds me of a nicely aged CDP, inasmuch as it�s quite soft and supple on the palate with pretty burnished fruit and ends with earthy notes. Would have scored higher but for a touch of stemmy tannins in the finish. That aspect is minimal but does linger, and likely accounts for some of the reviews. Gotta love Bedrock because these wines are always well made and express the vineyard.

I agree with the two prior notes that this is structure with no fruit. I'm a gigantic bedrock fan, it encompasses the largest portion of my cellar. This just isn't up to their par though. Nice color, decent but muted nose, tannin and acid but no fruit on the palate.

A solid old-vine syrah, right now still very primary and fruit forward. But didn't come off as special and didn't have as much of the rustic, old-world quality I love about many Bedrock wines.

I'm guessing that a Josh, Cupcake, or Yellowtail drinker would chug this without a problem; but for me > I wasn't happy with the 2014 Bedrock Kirschenmann. I don't think this wine is corked, but it just isn't good. The bottom has completely fallen out. It's just structure and no fruit. Started off earthy, almost dirty tasting. No spice, no pepper, no fruit. Just fermented grape juice. It's not "bad" nor undrinkable, it's just not pleasurable. Decanted 2 hours and consumed over 2 days (half bottle each night). Flavors of boysenberry, fig, baking spices, and white pepper. Slightly sweet and chocolatey on the finish. A tad chunky on the first night, but had smoothed out nicely by night 2. Drink now - 2030.

Starting to really open up for business. Best with 5+ hours of air. Oak has integrated nicely, beautifully balanced and lush on the palate.

First off the wine is too young. Secondly I�ve had better California Syrahs. Bedrock makes some really good Syrahs so I think this one is an outlier or just underdeveloped. Starts with bright acidity, black fruits, anise, chalk/ash leading into a bitter, oak driven finish. In summary: big acids, big fruit, big oak. I think these need 5+ years yet to integrate and then could drink 10+ from there. Potential for 93+, now 90.

Full- bodied, modern styling. A Syrah with early 2000s Napa Cab treatment: cigar, mocha and vanilla oak somewhat obscuring what would be oxydized bramble blue and red fruit. Drank over 6 hours -- length, complexity and balance didn't materize. Likely the fruit won't outlast the oak, drink in the next few years.

Gorgeous wine. This was immediately approachable upon opening but continued to evolve for the six hours we were sipping on it. Nuanced nose with meat, fat, oak, some dark fruit. Mouth filling texture. Darker fruits on the palate so well integrated with the acid and tannin. Nice long finish. Very well structured. Many good years ahead for this wine.

Clearly a well made wine. A big big wine, a bit too extracted for my tastes. Lots of good things too - savory, ripe stem aromatics, vibrant acid and a long finish. Oak is nicely integrated, and there�s not any sweetness to the fruit, although it does verge into prune territory. 15.8% alc and you feel it. Nice but honestly I�d rather drink entry level Bedrock most days.

Garnet to ruby color. Expressive nose of red fruits cranberries and cherries and some floral notes. Light to medium body and good finish. Drank over several days to similar effect. No rush to finish these but definitely in its drinking window.

The ‘14 Kirschenmann was drinking very well last night. Lighter weight than any of the other zins in my cellar, with lots of fresh raspberry and a mildly herbal edge leading to a savory finish. Nothing compares to the ‘12 Kirschenmann, but this is a nice reminder of that wine.

Densely packed with red and dark red fruit. What a terrific expression of wine making. We drank it over two nights and loved the development of an amazing wine. It's drinking very well and may continue to improve. So much better than I remember our first bottle being two years ago.

Red in color. 14.6% ABV. Fragrant nose of red fruits, flowers and earth. Medium body with ample acidity. Elegant, light and fresh. Claret style Zinfandel. Strawberries, cranberries, blood orange and black tea on the palate. Medium length on the finish. A unique expression of Zinfandel that was delightful on a warm Summer night in Seattle. Best over the next 2-3 years.

First thing that hit me on the nose was plenty of hibiscus (often the case with this vineyard’s zins). Some cherries and herbal notes too. On the palate, it has considerably more structure than I anticipated. Good balance. Some bitter notes that may not be to everyone’s taste, but I did not mind. Drinking great from the first pour, but still with plenty of structure, so no hurry. It’s got a profusion of earthy cherry qualities, which seems to be a unifying feature from this vineyard’s Zinfandel. Notes of tar, mint, and fine tannins. Overall impression is a medium-weight elegance, with strong bones and the structure to age nicely. Very drinkable now, and I have no regrets on opening it. Nonetheless, I’d love to see where this goes in 5, 10, 20 years.

14.6% alc...pulled cork 8 hours prior, decanted for 2hours...planted 1915, nose spicy, pomegranate, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, liqueur, plum...rich on the palate, viscous, medium body, integrated tannin, very pretty, goes down extremely easy.
