(CdV) Un vin à double facette: nez classique mais classique, le Meursault pâtissier boisé épicé (plutôt sur la retenue donc), bouche marquée par une très belle finale minérale ciselée et saline. Entre les 2, le vin se montre engoncé, enfermé par son boisé noble -certes- mais ça manque de pureté, de relief, de souffle en milieu de bouche. Et finalement, le terroir reprend enfin le dessus avec une langoureuse finale salivante très subtile, très élégante …

Popped and poured. DoubleMagnum’s note a little over a month ago fairly describes my own experience with this wine. Burnished gold, bruised apple, slight oxidation but still alive and kicking, though needs drinking. 4-12-16-8: 90/100.

Medium gold in color. Notes of bruised apple, pineapple, and toffee. Slight oxidation on the nose. On the palate it is dry with a metallic tang. The finish has a saline note, decent length and good acidity. It's time to drink up.

Just taking on a hint of toasty development but still a vital and energetic wine. There are cooler notes of slate and Arum lily. It has pure white peach fruit and a suggestion of rockmelon. It is rich but also compact, with a strong line of minerally acidity and plenty of chalky dry extract to the back-end.

A distinct notion of clay soil and oak take center stage. After about 30 minutes of time in the glass, apple and pear notes peek from behind the curtain. A bit heavy and out of balance. I think there is a chance that this wine will improve over the next five years.

There's a whiff of sulphur, some ripe peach, almond butter, dried flowers and aniseed. It is classic Charmes with plenty of sap and richness yet its cut with fine, minerally acidity. Persistence is good and it it open-knit, generous and drinking well.

Classic meusault. Stone fruit with a touch of richness makes this Les Charmes enjoyable. Somewhat muted on the nose. I will wait two years before revisiting this wine.

this had pretty nice cut for the meursault and the vintage, enough acid to satisfy my PM-oriented palate, Tiff liked too... citrus fruit, some mineral overlay, while the acid was sufficient i wouldn't call this chiselled at this early stage... i think this will be best in the next few years... not an ager
