Definitely better than I'd expected. Slow-oxed 8hrs and this only came into balance with further hours in the glass. Oak still shows but this will never be burgundy. Black cherry and spice nose, lots more spice in the mouth, plenty of acidity and some richness and meatiness. Just a bit of disjointed on the finish and nothing too subtle. Not your typical stewed strawberry Chilian pinot though. Hold for 3yrs, not sure the sweet spot for drinking will be before …

Viña Ventisquero by Hugo Salvestrini (Enoteca Barolo - Madrid) : Excepting for colour, nothing sutil here. Smokie yet herby nose, by disgrace oaky also with thyme notes. On the palate showed little alcoholic -just 13,5%- perhaps rustic and unbalanced. Thát's why better if chilled. San Antonio has to produce something more elegant, hasn't it? 1st vintage, 900 cs, Leyda Valley. Ventistquero started in 2000, 100% Estate. Family owned. red berry fruit aromas, nose gives a rich appeal. nice acid on the finish. not unlike some New Zealand PN profiles. Popping red fruit.
