Granville Chardonnay Spirit Hill Vineyard

Nose of pears, apples, and apricots. Stone fruit palate with hints of grapefruit and a zippy acidity that leas into wet stones, granite, and lemon. Very soft, smooth, and inviting. Drink soon.

Nose of white flowers and honey. Palate of ripe apple, poached pear, and Tarte Tatin with a cider-like acidity. Clean finish of yellow apple and wet stones.

Never heard of this producer before but this showed very well. Lemon curd and sea salt , honey on the nose, a bit shy for quite a while but opens up OK. On the palate, things really start cranking with vibrant acidity, lovely focus, minerality. Lemon and pineapple fruit blend well with oyster shell and crushed chalk, mixed together with richer notes of honey and nougat. Fun stuff that I'd definitely try again.
