Château Routas Côteaux Varois Rouvière

Great silky, almost unctuous, mouthfeel. Nicely expressive with peaches and strawberries being the predominant fruit. Pleasant acidity and a tangy, citrusy edge on the back end. An all-around lovely rosé at an excellent price.

Nice Rosé, not sweet, dry and perfect for a tail gate or warm afternoon lunch outside, maybe a thin crust pizza.

drank chilled. Vibrant salmon color in the glass. Crisp and dry with a nice nose of strawberries. An enjoyable $12 bottle of wine that paired nicely with fresh wild salmon.

Yum, no sweetness. No notes. Nice rose, especially for the $$$.

My first '08 rosé and I was happy to find it. A simple wine-- blushing peachy-pink in color, with notes of melon, tangerine, strawberry, and spearmint gum. The palate echoes the nose, but with enough minerality and acid to keep things from getting cloying. This is not my favorite rosé, but it's a much-needed harbinger of the wines that will hopefully follow in a few weeks.
