Light amber, low(+) intensity. Mature, medium(-) nose. A touch of oxidation. Honey and wax. Continuing with walnuts, dried fruit and lightly bruised apples. A slight sweetness, high chenin acidity, medium body with a slight grip. Smooth texture. 13%. Day 2, more apples and pronounced citrus in the aftertaste. Like, but liked more in 2021.

Certainly looks fully developed, with a deep golden hue verging on amber. Aromatically expressive, with floral notes, dried stonefruit, quince preserve, baked apple and a touch of honey. Medium-bodied, and despite 8,5 g/l residual sugar, the taste is perceived as fully dry. Ripe acidity mellowed by time, fruit drying or fading but not over the hill, and finally an understated apetizing bitterness, phenolic or mineral. Drinking nicely now, but probably should be finished over the next two years.

Clear, deep golden with brass and amber hues, medium intensity. Developed, pronounced nose. Clean and multifaceted; floral, wax, wool, sweet spice and smoke. Honey evolving after a while. Dry with slightly sweetness, high acidity, medium body with phenolic grip. Fresh on palate with citrus, yellow stone fruit. Long finish with lingering drying grip, lemons and grapefruit bitterness. So lovely chenin! No hurry to drink. (Organic, 11 month on old oak, alc 12,88%, RS 8,5g/l.)

Ekad citronsaft med dämpad, men perfekt, syra presenterad tillsammans med mineraler och honungsmelon. Vinet har lyfts rejält sedan förra gången jag testade det.

Colour: dark gold straw, with a touch of copper Nose: baked apple. Honeyed. Waxy. Lanolin. Sweet spice. Rich, oxidative. Raisins. Palate: lithe fresh citrusy acidity overlaying richer oxidative fruit. Lemon. Lemon peel. Apple. Waxy. Lemon and honey. Lanolin. Acidity still racy and fresh, lively, but quite mature. Dry, but tastes off-dry due to fruit sweetness. Lovely. Complex. Full bodied. 13% alcohol. Seal: natural cork.

Definitely over the hill with its oxidative notes and some wine drinkers would say this wine is spoiled. But I you are ok with the ox-style it is a great example of how this also can add complexity and make it a very interesting wine. We have had two more bottles from this vintage in 2017 and 2018 and it definitely was three different wines. Wich was best? Depends on wether you like fresh fruit or really matured wine. I …
