First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield) : Served Blind. Oxidised bruised apple notes, a little lemon marmalade, apricot, marzipan, sweet spice. Medium plus intensity acidity, fleshy, juicy, a little texture, initially a touch of spirituous, oxidised bruised apple here as well as a touch of burnt caramel. Probably past it’s best I knew this was mine

Coravin fun - Alsace, Loire and Random French (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. Honey, almost smoky notes, lemon, a little apricot, sweet spice, a touch of cellar stink. medium plus intensity acidity, sweet but not lusciously so, slight alcohol warmth, tangy, flavours very slightly muted here but lemon marmalade and apricot, a little texture. Probably drink up on this tasting. Nice though.

Coravin fun - State of Play (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. Lemon and lemon peel, honey, sweet spice, a little mushroom, leather, a little herbaceous note...medium plus intensity acidity, sweet, it's very lemon and lemon peel with slight glycerol richness, a little alcohol warmth and honey on the finish, some lovely texture to the mid palate. Long. Lovely.

Annual Coravin blitz - day three (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. Low intensity aromas of honey, sweetened lemon and caramel. In the mouth though it's lusciously sweet with impeccable acid balance, lemon marmalade with pith and peel, honey and a little biscuit crumble. Splendid.

A very dark golden, mature color. Complex aromas of perfume, honey, poached pear, apricot, caramel. Same flavors, with the addition some orange liqueur and brown sugar. Really rich and creamy in the mouth. Lots of viscosity; almost botrytis-like. A long velvety finish. The wine is probably on the declining path of its maturity plateau, but it’s still drinking beautifully. Paired quite nicely with roasted organic chicken. The wine, to me, is more appreciable by itself. The last time I drank …

Neville's Pre-Wedding Dinner (Atelier, Sydney) : Honey, mango and brown sugar aromas. Palate has medium sweetness but very little depth. Still nicely drinkable.
