Domaine de Gineste Gaillac Cuvée Pourpre

This was decanted for a good hour before drinking but it was clearly not enough. Tight and tannic, it did reveal dark cherry and bark on the nose, and after an additional hour dried herbs and some perfume. The palate was dense, tight and with cherry, mixed with some earthiness. It began to become somewhat tart after an additional two hours and dropped off. Perhaps the wine is in its dumb stage? Still, a very interesting wine indeed.
