Occasio Merlot Thatcher Bay Vineyard

I still think this wine is described well by my previous post. But wife thinks there is no fruit notes left. Just earth and tobacco, espresso and oak. I don't agree. So , if you are mainly looking for fruit flavors , don't wait any longer to uncork this wine or you may already be disappointed.

Dark fruits. Toasty oak. Vanilla. Medium body and tannins. Pretty tasty.

Mostly opaque, deep red to slightly purple rim. On the nose is a distant black cherry with dark oak. Very pleasing blend of fruit and vanilla. The palate leads off with a very strange taste of hops that lingers throughout. Aside from that is some black cherry, medium tannin, and fairly pronounced oak toward the back end. Finish is warm and medium, but the hops taste still lingers. I'm wondering if my bottle is faulty--this beer taste is incredibly strange. …

Earthy, day after rain aroma. Deep velvet plum flavors, great tannin's. Hint of chocolate.
