Guy Castagnier, Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru

Fragrant nose, still quite primary, steel and lovely bright red fruit (strawberry, raspberry), traditional style, the oak mainly supports, integrates and provides warmth but is not prominent; on the palate rich but dry, no overripeness in the fruit, lovely acidity, creamy strawberries, savoury, well-balanced, tannins are okay but there is an edge to them; convincing and aromatic finish, estery red fruits, good length. Not for the long term.
