The crowd at the dinner party really enjoyed this. Inky dark with mostly resolved tannins. Good fruit yet.

Popped and Vinturied. Nicely ripe huckleberry and blueberry fruits, with charcoal, black olive, and a iron and mineral stratum. Very, very nice.

Drinking like a champ. Still many miles left in the tank here. Pretty, elegant, yet still grippy. This was glorious with some smoked beef. Nice wine. Last bottle :(

This is an elegant wine...wish we had more. Dry and complex fruitiness. Peaks mid-palette with a lingering finish. Touch of smokiness. Pair with fatty red meats and cheeses.

This came across as very pure and ripe. Still nicely vibrant. Tinge of meat and smoke on the nose. Palate is juicy and nicely balanced, soft tannins, juicy red currant and black cherry/berry fruit. If I had any more, I would br drinking up. This was nice, but pales against a Cayuse or Betz from similar vintage. More recent Waters wines are better.

I thought it was at its peak in my 2016 review, but this is still showing well. Still have a couple of bottles to try in a few more years.

It’s been 2.5 years since we last tasted this vintage. I wrote it was drinking well in early 2016. Well, it still is. So many tastes and flavors in this wonderful Syrah. Paired with chili dogs done on the Traeger. Just an exceptional wine. Sorry it is my last bottle.

Dark purple hue. Smoke, cherry/dark fruit, earthy. Easy to drink. Enjoyed without food.

P&P. Consistent with prior notes from this past July. Really nice funk, perhaps even more so than before. Cherry fruit coming though after the funk settles down. Damn fine Syrah, and I'm sorry this is my last bottle.

Cherry fruit, funk, smoke. Nice earthiness, with a savory finish of brine. Really interesting Syrah, and right up my alley. This has plenty of time left...drink now - 2020.

Purple red in the glass with a nose cedar, plums and cherries. After an hour or so opens up with some nice acid followed by slightly restrained red plum fruit. The tannins are in need of a little more time to soften along with the acid which does give balance. Drinks better with food, night one @ 89 pts.

Color was dark ruby, nose was dark red fruit. It was well balanced, full bodied with dark cherry, plum, raspberry on the palate. The finish was medium long with soft tannins. I probably should have decanted it, but did not. It is time to drink it.

We last had this 5 years ago. Reviewing the notes, it wasn't ready but showed good promise. I think this is drinking very well right now and has definitely matured. It could lay a while longer but don't wait to long. Well-balanced, full bodied, plummy, raspberry and towards the sweeter side. Has a long finish with no noticeable tannins. While not massively complex, it has enough going on to keep it interesting. Drank very well without food.

Bought from FP. Decanted an hour and drank over the next 3 and was hollowing out a tiny bit towards the end. In hindsight, this is probably ready to go with 30 min's of a decant. I think it's peaking, but could easily last beyond the CT end date of 2017. With a little heat initially, it's New World, well-balanced, full bodied, plummy, raspberry and towards the sweeter side with a taste profile thats moving from primary to secondary. Has …

Dark fruit, wet stone, and a little bit of funky earthiness. Outstanding!

Inky dark ruby, intense cassis nose. Lightly dry, bold fruit with tartness to bring into balance and not be jammy. Some light smoothly integrated tannins with a hint of bitter on the PnP, 90 pts to start. The fruit compote with a lemon twist is apt here, fruity but light on its feet. With some open time losing the bitter, well balanced and improving, great with some spicy salami, sharp cheddar and crackers. Overnight, developing a cool climate light fruit …

Hey this is good! Cool climate Syrah profile in spades, jerky and olives and cracked pepper and blackberry. The fruit is still youthful and intense but it's held in check by the acidity and savory elements. Gone before I could even jot a note.

Decanted 30 min and drank over the following 2 hours. Lots of funk at first, turning to more cherry fruit and bramble with air. In a great spot now. Drink or continue to hold.

Night 1 - PnP, but got better as the night went on. Savory game on the nose. Nice acid with savory game and white pepper. Silky tannins. Light/medium bodied with medium/long finish. Night 2 after storing in refrigerator - Only hints of savory game on the nose and almost none on the palate. The white pepper has become the dominant note. Still smooth, but not as interesting as on night 1. In a really good place right now, but think …

This needs some air to shed its primary aspects. Aromas of cured meats, smoked meats, ripe fruit, black olives, soy sauce. Flavors: black fruit, earth, charcoal, this threatens being over ripe, but with air this shows well and has the acidity to support it. Fine tannins. long finish.

I don't understand the high reviews for this wine. Bought an 05,06,07 vertical from the winery 2 years ago and drank all three over the last few weeks. The 07 was the best but nowhere near as good as other Washington Syrahs.

Excellent QPR. Floral initially that gave way to blackberries and anis. Better after 2 hours in a pie plate decanter. Paired nicely with rosemary seasoned porterhouses.

This wine was simply outstanding. After an hour of breathing it showed an intriguing gamey earthy character that continued to evolve over the next several hours. It reminded me more of a fine Bourgone than a syrah. At one point in the evolution the aroma of stewed tomatoes overpowered everything until it reached a rotting vegetable crescendo. Underneath, the palate continued to show red berries, earth and game with mild tannins. With yet more air charcoal took over in the …
