Château Haut-Bernasse Monbazillac

Good value if you can't spring for a Sauternes. Nice golden nector shade. No nose to speak of, but a honey peach flavor fill the mouth along with a touch of apricot thrown in for good measure, without being cloying. Pretty short aftertaste. This tasted fabulous with roasted almonds and cheddar cheese. Enhances this dessert wine splendidly.

Sweet and neutral honey, no complexity.

Good lower priced alternative to Sauternes, but lacking the complexity and some of the 'spicier' notes. Excellent with spicy Thai food.
